Even the first Rendezvous With Rama sequel (Rama Returns?) is pretty unreadable these days. You can tell distinctly which parts are written by AC Clarke and which by his co-author - Clarke retains the interesting science fiction, his co-author is too busy obsessing over which astronauts his two female characters are going to bang on any given day.

System images exist, but ok? Assuming most people don’t have that technical knowledge, all those non-DRM games still work. I can copy and paste Kerbal Space Program and play it anywhere. The games with DRM I bought, I bought knowing what I was buying. I also bought knowing that what I was purchasing was smooth distribution and streamlined updates and safe and easy network play and not running random Russian .exes with an EDM soundtrack while cracking; but also with trust that those would still exist if Steam didn’t.

Thousands of games are distributed in that form on Steam too. It’s a publisher/developer choice which DRM they use on Steam if any.

And if it’s Steam DRM they use, the solution if Steam goes offline is… the button that says “Go Offline”.

It can actually help with eating disorders in that apart from making you feel full sooner, it also seems to have a reduction in addictive behaviours of all sorts. There’s talk of research being done for things as diverse as opiate addiction and ADHD - where improved executive function might look very like more will-power/thinking time around impulsive behaviours.

My comment is literally only about the logo. Your choice of it is the thing that highlights literally everything else I said.

If it weren’t for the logo, there would be no comment. Would I want to know whether people were hosting encrypted CSAM on my servers? Yes. You are free to take risks that you want to take. But the public image you choose is your own doing.

Do you see any lack of wisdom in providing and describing a way for people to anonymously share encrypted CSAM on your servers, politely asking them not to do it after explicitly telling them how to do it, and then making your logo a Japanese schoolgirl?
