That might be fixable with a reball. Hard to say from the picture if the pads are damaged, but they look pretty consistent. So either none are damaged, or they all are.

There have been lots of cases of GPS jamming lately, where this could be used as a backup. And even more crucial for certain situations, it could detect GPS spoofing attacks.

I bought some hp mini PCs a while ago and they had the 3 pin design. As I understand it the third pin communicates the power output of the supply, so the device can either reject the supply or work in a lower power mode. Luckily though they just use a simple resistor to do the communication, so the fix was to just solder in a resistor on the device side, and then I could use an ordinary laptop supply (with the right connector adapter).

Dell is much worse here. As far as I know their devices use a serial protocol on the third pin, and so it’s much harder to bypass it.

In my experience if a metroidvania game is described as soulslike it means it will have time wasting mechanics like corpse runs, and the spawn points will be placed in awkward locations. Mostly inspired by hollow knight.

Yep, and my bank just announced that they’re getting rid of the web portal at the end of the year. It’s app only from then on. And their app already didn’t work on my rooted phone. This will just be a more constraining restriction.

I believe if you want to set up picture-in-picture on LG monitors, you have to use their application - the osd menu can’t do it for some reason.

Sorry, being on c/technology I made some assumptions here. I was mostly talking to people who want a dumb tv and hook up an external smart device to it, like a media centre, an android box, or an iptv box.

This is generally agreed to be a better solution as it lets you actually control your media stack, and it provides longevity. A regular smart tv will be outdated and slow within a few years, while a dumb tv can last maybe three times longer unless something inside it actually fails.

Just an FYI to anyone looking, you can still actually buy mostly-dumb TVs.

I was looking for a TV to buy for my parents last year and it seemed like the only options available were “smart TVs,” and I begrudgingly ended up buying a Philips ambilight unit. I was pleasantly surprised by how dumb the Titan OS on it was. Sure, it had WiFi, and the usual Netflix and other streaming apps, but I just didn’t connect it to the WiFi, and from then on it was just a souped up version of their 15 year old TV. It did ask to be connected to WiFi, but stopped after being told no a few times.

I’m sure other manufacturers have similar “smart on paper, but dumb in reality” OSes, as it seems to mostly be a cost cutting exercise. The hardware in the TV would need to be more expensive to run an actual smart platform. So the manufacturers just make a low end thing that ticks the right boxes to be able to call it smart for marketing, thinking that’s what people want.

Slaying the dragon.

Especially since you can hide them if you want to maintain a clean interface. That way you can bring them back later if you decide to replay the game, or share it with your family. There’s so few reasons to ever delete a game.

In plasma you just add the Pager widget to your panel. In gnome you enable the “Workspace indicator” extension, which should be installed by default.

Both gnome and plasma have that feature. Plasma even lets you move the windows, I think in gnome you can only drag them from one workspace to another.
