You should take a look at Benjamin, Horkheimer and Adorno and the other members of the School of Frankfurt. They did a lot of thinking in the 40s-50s around mass media, the advances of technology and the regressions of our societies because of it.

I don’t recall the exact book but one of them advanced a theory that basically said what you’re suggesting. That technology now advances faster than humans’ ability to spiritually receive, understand and integrate it. So instead of mastering it, we’re being enslaved by it.

Sorry I don’t have a reliable source on that, it might be wrong. I just read it on the Minnesota subreddit, someone who was explaining who he was. They said that he served in the air force, and then worked as a nurse for veterans.

I’m not in the US, that’s how we say “going to another country to perform military missions” in my country.

And as much as I have a general dislike for the US foreign policy they did good things too. I’ve read that he worked in the air force so he could have participated in preventing ISIS from killing more innocents and enslaving ethnic minorities by being on missions targeting their weapons depots a few years ago for example.

I’ve read that Alex was a veteran. So he probably participated in overseas operations. He survived abroad against whoever he fought for his country, only to be executed in said country, in his own town, by what is probably a frustrated basement dweller without any more accomplishment in his life than insulting kids on CoD and gooning ten times a day.

I’ve heard one analyst say that the most probable end of all this is just a very bad “deal” for Danemark. Trump and his goons throw the worst things around so people panic and want to negociate, and in the end they accept way worse than they were willing to accept in the first place, while feeling relieved that things didn’t end up worse. It’s what he’s done with Ukraine already.

Non-violent action works if big enough because people will actually start to act if they see that enough other people are fed up and willing to move their asses.

One march every month isn’t sufficient though, they have to ramp up the movement, they have to claim public spaces and make themselves unavoidable.

Even if you count on violence to work. Apart from two people with nothing to lose, noone will move their asses to enact said violence if they feel alone. Knowing that 50 millions others are mobilized and not letting go behind them, on the other hand…

At the very least, the pressure of seeing that the people, multiple dozens of millions of them, are so against tyranny that they are in the streets every week or every evening.

This will make cowards and wannabe turncoats stop sucking the dictator’s dick and start acting against him because they feel legitimate to do so and aren’t afraid to be alone against tyranny anymore.

If noone ever moves, noone will ever move. If you show your discontent only by being sarcastic on the internet and waiting for the democrats of all people to act, they know nobody will oppose them.

And the movement actually realizing, growing and staying will feed the movement itself and has a chance to make the protests evolve into something more too.

Good! Keep them going, come back every week, build momentum. This is the first step, don’t stop now. Motivate people by showing that you are here and you won’t let them get away with it. Gather into specific spots like you did for Occupy, block roads, unionize and organize yourselves.

It’s not others’ jobs to fix your own country. Here we’re all baffled at your lack of responsiveness in face of the situation. Especially when you were so vocal about your guns and freedom and so on.

Where are the constant protests? The strikes? Why is nothing in fire yet? The guy removed the barely functioning thing that passed for social security in your country and you did nothing? He made all the prices jump by at least 20% in a few months and still nothing? He let a billionaire install his 18 years old “hackers” with goofy names steal all your data and fire half the public workers, no? He refuses to help your allies and threatens to invade them? He created his own private militia and arrests people on sight because they’re brown to send them in death camps? And you watch on the sides?

Nobody’s coming to save you because it’s not our job, it’s yours.
