Gaming@lemmy.zip•Valheim 1.0 Launches After 5 Years in Early AccessEnglish
0·2 months agoCondolences about your buddy, friend.
I’m interested. Please keep me in the loop if this gets any traction soon, but I can also look into getting a VPS going for a persistent server once I have some IRL things taken care of.

Linux@programming.dev•Omarchy’s Kitty Config Exposed Users to Remote Code Execution
0·2 months agoUnfortunately yes. Somehow the buzz around it has resulted in a decent number of e.g. YouTube channels with dev content talking about how great they think it is, which is bad for the discourse IMO

Lately, I’ve really been enjoying Lemmy and posts like this. All of it makes me feel like I’m still able to surf the web like I did 5-10+ years ago, interacting with other humans on the Internet in passing rather than a botnet like so many other popular sites.
I’m also a huge fan of cable management. I love the process of cleaning up my home/office to blend devices into the space.

United States | News & Politics@lemmy.ml•Graham Platner shrugs off scandals to win Maine Democratic Senate primary
0·5 months agoWhy do you view Platner’s success as the death of the US left? I’m missing exactly what it is that makes any of this compare realistically to the transgressions of many Republican and Democrat politicians who have had prolific careers. There will always be disagreements about when a politicians’s behaviors are too much to bear, but I’m struggling to understand why this Primary win by GP signifies the end of the leftist movement in the US.

Podcasts@slrpnk.net•[recommend me] informational/comedic/celebrity podcastsEnglish
0·8 months agoThe Dollop can be pretty good if you enjoy history. The premise is one of the hosts reads a story compiled from his own research into crazy stories from history via articles, books, etc., and the other reacts in real-time. Both hosts are comedians, so there’s a big comedy focus.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Trump advisers ‘would prefer if Israel bombs Iran first as the politics are better’English
0·8 months agoOne of my biggest problems with the past 8-9 years is the amount of blame Trump gets compared to his army of cronies making all of the policy decisions. He is a demonstrably terrible person, but he’s clearly not the brains behind these policies

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Guys, what's the best Linux distro to install on my PC?
0·9 months agoCan’t agree more. I posted about some strange performance issues last summer and Peter talked with me about it privately for a few hours until it was resolved. Ended up needing some kernel patches for my setup that went on to help with the next release

I have some hilarious news for you…
