The way I see it, Carney has said he is going to implement austerity measures (hack and slash fiscally conservative policy, that is) to balance the budget instead of raising taxes on the 1% and actually trying to address the main issue of income inequality.

Show me where Carney said exactly this, and who is the 1%?

This will degrade public services and further increase the financial burden on the majority of Canadians.

I would be interested to see your math on this.

This will in turn continue to worsen public sentiment of the Liberals and eventually result in people turning to populist snakeoil salesmen like pp. Carney is at best kicking the can down the road a little bit.

Who do you think could currently do a better job than the person who has proven on several occasions that he is capable of doing the job?

Also, how does any of that answer my question?

What could possibly be telling you that a Carney led Liberal Government would lead to an Authoritarian Government?

You know what, I’m going to delete my post, because it was clearly misinformed. I’m certain I recall reading several articles stating that the Liberals intended to attempt to balance the budget by making cuts, but I can’t find any evidence to support that.

I’m not sure why I thought that, but regardless I appreciate the call out.

I get it. It is damn near impossible to get proper information this election cycle with all the poo being thrown.

Thanks for being so respectful about the call out, and I am happy it was able to point you in the right direction information wise.

        Take care.

Carney did claim recently $28B cuts will be comming. Liberal heavy handed behaviour towards unions smells of authoritarianism… so yeah freedom curbing is coming, we’re just not sure on packaging and potency

        1. Source it.

        2. When did Carney do anything heavy handed as the leader towards unions? Pretty busy news cycle so apologies if I missed that.

The Liberals say that transfers to provinces and individuals would be off limits, but they aim to save $28 billion over three years by cutting “wasteful” spending and making changes to the government’s internal operations, including a cap on the size of the public service.

Carney didn’t deal with unions, Liberals did. I don’t think there’s a single instance on memory where they did not man-handle unions.
