One really weird thing that stands out to me is

hard labour…picking litter, picking produce, clearing mine fields, cleaning up Chernobyl

Ok, so picking vegetables and cleaning up rubbish; is somehow equivalent to clearing explosives or cleaning up nuclear contamination.

    So strange.

Human population growth is already plateaued and in the most developed nations it’s already net negative. in order to sustain break-even (human) population levels, there must be no fewer than 2.1 offspring born, on average, per {gestational reproductive caste specimen}<irrespective of masculine or feminine configuration>.

The human population of South Korea’s last reported birthrate is 0.78.
          In japan, 1.26.
          In the united states, 1.66.

There will be so few able bodied humans extant to perform basic upkeep in 20 years that fundamental infrastructural systems will not JUST be crumbling to dust from sheer neglect as they are now, but actively self-destructing from sustained systemic cascade failure.

the only reason any developed nation is population-positive right now is due to immigration – and now that america is cracking down on that… i wonder if we’ll actually see the population decrease soon.

There’s a reason Trump wants to give medals to women who have multiple kids, dangle a one-off shiny bauble as if that’ll offset the costs of having the kids.

Australia has been giving couples $5k for their first kid for the last couple of decades, hasn’t helped and our birth rate has dropped to 1.50.

I hope so too. One of the key problems you have is taking care of the elderly and infirm with less and less of the younger generation around. It’s a hard one to solve economically without being like “I guess just let them die”.

As the size of the working population declines, labor will reallocate itself from less necessary positions to more necessary ones. So the proportion of the population that would have worked at McDonalds, for example, would work in nursing homes instead.

You’re right and that’s exactly where the problem arises. We’re seeing projections in some places where the need for care workers of various types looks like it will be larger than that countries workforce can bear. I.e., at current levels, there wouldn’t be anyone to work at McDonald’s but then also not enough to work in more necessary roles, basic government, infrastructure, etc.

        She thinks I’m good looking

She posts on reddit, and I used to. She is very popular! I had more of a cult following given the kind of content I make

But, for obvious reasons, we’re not showing our faces

Also, we don’t give a damn about market penetration. We don’t charge, and we don’t want to

Having spent too much time on tumblr… I wish I could say this is uncommon. Tumblr moderation also leaves a lot to be desired and even before the last layoff the site has been running on fumes in terms of support.

Tumblr is, sadly, a huge hotbed for anti-sex radfem rhetoric and has absorbed a lot of it into a larger movement built on top of ship wars. In the 2010s, bigger radfem accounts realized they could use tumblr ship culture as a recruitment strategy and it worked unfortunately well. It’s only gone downhill since then, with more and more extreme views taking over as people who aren’t this rabid get harassed or bullied out of these spaces.

There are a shocking amount of supposedly liberal identifying, and even queer identifying, young people on tumblr who are violently anti sex and anti porn for this reason. It’s also very common to get death threats and harassment on tumblr. These views have only been amplified by the culture on tik tok. The paranoia and moral panic around sex and media isn’t really new (every generation seems to have one) but its difficult to work with because they are very empowered by this idea of righteousness when they engage in this kind of behavior, and like other reactionary movements thrive on the attention they get.

Anecdotally, I can tell you these folks have very black and white thinking and a lot of them are projecting HARD. Guaranteed at least one of them runs like, a vore blog where they swear up and down that it’s a “SFW vore blog” and not “one of those gross kinks”.

There are still a lot of parts of tumblr that are fairly nice though. If you’re willing to block early and often, you can find a solid community of people.

There’s a group of rabid crazies that think that a woman can never consent to having sex with a man (because of the patriarchy). In their minds, any man who has sex with a woman is a rapist.

It’s ironically one of the most sexist beliefs against women I’ve ever heard.

Ah yes, “all piv s*x is rape (and/or) unnatural” (they would ACTUALLY unironically censor the word ‘sex’ in their verbal diarrhea) posts.

I remember seeing them getting more and more attention like ten or so years ago.

…Sometimes I wonder if the political shitstorm we’re enduring today is at least partially backlash against that in particular.

Like, the fascists print that shit out and frame it and say “this is what we are uniting against” and that’s how they convinced so many normies to follow them. Fuck.

It’s definitely a factor. I’m quite left leaning, but even I agree with them on a good number of points. Thankfully I’m capable of dissecting it further, so wasn’t drawn in. I can easily see how boys and young men could be.

We spent our whole lives being told we needed to apologise to women for oppressing them. That women had it worse than us and things needed to be evened up. Meanwhile, we were often worse off than they were, and got no additional support, other than being told to man up and/or being laughed at, with a dose of “how does it feel”.

Best I can tell. Feminists look at the top men and compare them to the average woman’s situation. They also make a lot of noise about the privileges men have, but are suspiciously quiet about the responsibilities linked to them. Women need their own space, but any male space is evil, and must be destroyed.

Fyi, I’m also aware that it’s a small minority of feminists, but they have a disproportionate voice in the media.

But really she wasn’t strict since I didn’t live with my dad and the only time we ever really interacted was when she helped me upgrade my GPU to play Phantom Menace (still funny I pre-ordered it, but it took months to get it working right), their house just had cable Internet while my mom had dialup until I was a junior in highschool.

Because while the porn industry might not be great, suppressing sexual desire like they do is unhealthy.

To be human is to want sex. Everyone will at some point think or desire sex. Generally, unless you’re a real rare case, you’ll get horny once in a while.

I’ve spoken with a few people like in the OP in the past, and they yell this anti-porn rhetoric as if they’re trying to loudly drown out their own sexual desires.

For real - the industry is horrific. I don’t feel comfortable with the real stuff; I don’t like not knowing if that person was treated fairly or paid what they were promised or consented to everything that happened. Zero puritanical aspect to it, zero issue with smut and drawn images.

It’s just frustrating how the weirdos are the ones most critical of the industry. The world would be better if all porn was stuff made by eager participants who were happy and paid well.

Younger consumers seem to very disproportionately favor small studios and individual creators with actors who at least pretend to be enjoying themselves, so I think things are likely getting better, if maybe slowly.
