A charming, yet baffling, lack of guile comes to mind.
He means well, he would never lay a hand on her. Pretty chill. Just kinda stupid. In all fairness, her last husband was a giant asshole gaslighter and cheated on her for years, so it wasn’t hard to find an upgrade.
