And hers? They took both… making her need to order all over again after being told the person in front paid. So, she likely got excited for free food then was even more pissed when said food was neither free nor available at the second window…

I mean it wasted a bit of time on both side but she could probably just order at the receiving window, since the workers would know the situation already

Sounded like she was in more of a rush than he was and even if it did have an easy solution, the type that gets pissed off at a slight delay from a person being ahead of them in a drive thru is likely going to get pissed off every time she thinks of it.

And even if the workers understood what was happening, I’d say it was a coin toss whether they prepared to help her vs just wanted to enjoy the guy’s trolling.

Though there’s a decent chance that the person on cash and the person handing out the food didn’t stop to talk to each other to figure out what was going on and that it took more minutes just to understand what was happening when she got to the front of the line.

I mean he did have to explain to someone he was paying for the other person’s order so someone there was aware

Probably could just order at the receiving window after explaining the situation

Now that I think about it, you wouldn’t even have to explain much since they’d most likely know you told them you’ll pay for her order

It’s still an additional delay for someone already upset that OP was taking too long to order.

I think it’s the perfect consequence for being an ass in the drive through.

It just seems like you’d be paying for two meals and slowing yourself down even further without much payoff, since the other person can quickly resolve the situation anyway. Might as well just slowed down ordering in the first place, that way you wouldn’t have had to pay for a second order
