    Unless I’m sitting really close to my tv (which I never do), I find the difference between 1080 and 4K to be mostly unremarkable and not worth 10 to 15 times the space on my server’s hard drives. Maybe for some special movies, but certainly not for any TV shows. 1080 is fine for me for most movies.

      Yeah, if you avoid money sinks up front, you also don’t get sucked into money sinks later on.

      I have a 200" projector screen and anything below 4K Blu-ray is very noticable. 😅

      Same. I grab 1080p for pretty much everything. There’s not enough of a visual difference to go with 4k file sizes, especially with storage prices being what they are.
