The original N64 controls are clunky (worst was in the Water Temple when hoping back and fourth in the menu just to put on and take off the iron boots pausing the game A LOT, since it’s the main mechanic of progression during that point). I’ve played the 3DS remake in 2011, that was okay but when looking back: it’s incredibly small if speaking about screen real estate.
I would think so, just judging by the trailer and extended gameplay we saw. You can freely move the camera around, which Aonuma even mentioned that you couldn’t do in the original version due to limited inputs on the N64 controller.
A bit of an exercise on futurology, but from what I skimmed on the promotional materials, this remake seems to be inspired in the recent open world Zelda games. If that’s the case indeed, I’d presume that the controls would work as well.
