That is fair. You can’t really blame the guy who was brainwashed from childhood for being brainwashed. (I don’t even wanna know what kind of religious gobbledygook this is all being couched as.)
But, at a certain point, there is a responsibility one must take upon oneself to step out of that. Especially when opportunities abound for such a simple enlightenment.
I definitely see him as a victim, just not the type of victim he is framing himself as.
I don’t disagree with that. I just don’t think there’s a ton of space in the vent diagram of “people who got homeschooled” and “people with a strong sense of agency and personal accountability.” A lot of these people are raised with fake victim complexes.
