Putin is almost certainly behind this. Trying to stop a Democrat politician and help Trump in the midterms. Remember not voting is a vote for Trump.

Please modify the title to match the article, as it is currently highly editorialized. I also disagree with “Dem leaders” meaning, “Lon Johnson, a former Michigan Democratic Party chair, and David Kramer, a longtime Democratic strategist who has previously helped elect Democrats to the Senate, are leading the effort.” it’s borderline misinformation. Please adjust within 30 minutes or it will be removed.

It is David Kramer and Lon Johnson former Democrat strategist and former party chair of the Michigan Democratic Party. Yes, conservative aligned reporting have interest in boosting this signal.

So it is propaganda to report on or think that Bill Clinton or Barak Obama’s opinions and public endorsements carry any value or have relation to the Democratic party’s positions? Surely since Bill Clinton wasn’t currently president at the time, it was a conspiracy theory and not established and verifiable fact that the entire establishment worked for Hillary for both the 2008 and 2016 primaries. They happened to have failed in 2008 and succeeded in 2016, and the DNC leaks proved the party was against Bernie. Surely Obama’s endorsement of Biden and calling all the moderates to dropout and endorse Biden meant nothing since Obama wasn’t currently in formal control of the Democrat party.

What do you mean by that? Sure he brought back some regulations in the market to stabilize it and make it functional after the ultra-free market Shock Therapy completely impoverished and destroyed the Russian economy. But, even if you think he is cynical, he is mostly appealing to Russian nationalism and Eastern Orthodox Christianity to appeal to his base. I would more describe him as a Nationalist Liberal, but outside the US definition of liberal being Democrat aligned and conservative means Republican aligned, liberal and conservative are not mutually exclusive.

Unless you are using the definition of conservative to mean trying to bring back and maintain the past, which depending on your timescale would mean that he is trying to bring back the Soviet system. In that case he would definitely not be a conservative.

            U.S. Conservatives suck Trump’s butthole.

Trump sucks Putin’s butthole. So, I think that means Putin can’t be a U.S. conservative.

For all of Trumps extreme and immediate faults, he does not “suck Putin’s Butthole”. He was willing to support Ukraine for a small window in which he thought Ukraine could win. His opposition to Ukraine is his unwillingness to be seen backing a loser and Zelensky not giving him dirt on the Biden’s from Hunter’s appointment to the Burisma board to use the Biden family’s corruption against them in the election. Also, currently the need to get more diesel and oil on the market to be seen to do something about it for the midterm elections.

No, I don’t think that is true. He still mostly maintains markets and privatization. There is some complications as he felt the need to bring oligarchs in line, which might mean undermining their capital and control of markets and he did reintroduce regulations and some subsidies of the market after the Shock Therapy extreme free markets destroyed the Russian economy. But he isn’t a social democrat, other than very few policies that the older boomers insisted on having that were watered down versions of what they had during the Soviet Union had.

              democrats are authoritarian garbage lite,

It really helps to name some names when you talk like this.

Eric Adams is authoritarian garbage. Gavin Newsom is authoritarian. Chuck Schumer is authoritarian. Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherril are authoritarian.

But throwing these accusations at Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib doesn’t make any sense.

The op-ed cited in the piece covers it, basically calling him a “terrorist supporter” for being anti-zionist and not leaning into full islamophobia (my framing, not theirs). This op-ed is also published in other Michigan outlets than Detroit News (I don’t know local Michigan outlets thoroughly enough to tell if one would be considerably more respectable) and on other outlets attributed to being republished and originally put forth by Reuters, but I can’t find a link to the Reuters version.

Sorry, just reread it again. They also played the “He’s been associated with Hasan Piker” card.

“Supporting a candidate is a choice, not an obligation. Party loyalty is not blind obedience. Support must be earned, and a vote is never owed.” Weird how the logic is exactly the opposite if it is a right-wing establishment candidate. They are actively denouncing the entire Democrat electoral strategy.

I maintain that the DNC, at least at a nation wide scale, has been controlled opposition since Carter. The rich and powerful in the country couldn’t work against a party where the opposition was formerly military and educated in something other than business or law.

Clinton played his roll. Al Gore was too much of an opposition so the Supreme Court stole it from his win. Kerry wasn’t going to win.

Obama they lost control with, but he was still a wealthylawyer. They relied too heavily on racism and the belief that their gerrymandering was good enough. Hillary Clinton was an ideal candidate to hand the election to Trump.

I firmly believe Biden was allowed to win, against Trumps desires, so that the Heritage Foundation could get Project 2025 ready. All they had to do was delay investigations. The GOP was terrified of Walz, but Harris was easy enough to control.

I look at Bernie Sanders and Vermont in general, Walz and Minnesota (never voted for a conservative president) and Mandami, AoC, every other progressive candidate, and each one refuses to “fall in line.”

Should progressives win this mid-term, despite controls they have in place, I believe the ultra wealthy will drop the charade and the remaining months of this congress swing into full authoritarianism.

Centrist democrats are essentially Republicans. If their centrist candidate can’t win they prefer a Republican win. Why? Because they all take money from the same billionaires and corporations—probably AIPAC too. Therefore it’s a win-win for those serving the same donors.

The Democrat establishment wants nothing more than to be polite Republicans, and feel that they should be able to use that to only appeal to “moderate” Republicans and tell everyone else to fall in line. This is only one way. They are fine losing to Republicans if the alternative is to do anything progressive.

Democrats are republicans in blue clothing. I’m not gonna stump for one in any form ever again.

Did you not see the meme yesterday?

If there are 10 people in a car, 3 vote to drive off a cliff, two vote not to drive off a cliff, and 5 don’t vote… Everyone gets driven off a cliff regardless of what you want.

Abstaining is effectively handing Republicans the keys to the car when they have stated “we plan to cut the brakes and floor it for the nearest cliff.”

So you’re entitled fully to your feelings and opinions, but not voting/voting third party isn’t going to do anything good for anyone, plain and simple.

More like 3 people vote to help genocide by driving into a crowd of minorities, 2 vote to do a land acknowledgement while driving into the same crowd of minorities being genocided, and 5 are too horrified to vote for either option.

Literally, if genocide is not a red line, there is literally no evil you will not support if it is the blue team doing it.

Yes I saw the holy righteous crew dunking on people because they have been given no choice.

Bus driver one wants to steal my money then bomb my family and brag about it, bus driver two wants to steal my money, bomb even more of my family while parading around acting civilized and righteous.

So since nobody wants to stop killing babies the best thing is for the bus to crash.

APPARENTLY DEMOCRAT LEADERS AGREE IN THIS SCENARIO.

And by the way , there are more people not on the bus being hurt by the bus than there are people on the bus who might get hurt.

We’re talking about the empire. Is Luke wrong for blowing up the death star? Didn’t he hurt a lot of people?

Palpatine and his minions are shit and deserve to fry.

The independent contractors who accepted the construction gig because its the only one in town? I have much less vitriol for them just trying to make ends meet in a system that leaves them little other choice and would hope you feel similarly.

Let’s also make an important distinction in my claim here; I feel bad for the actual every day blue collar workers who have to submit or suffer with the difference being one of degrees. I have zero compassion for those who lick boots and support the system.

In this scenario we have the useless and the evil. I’d personally prefer useless over outright evil, and with the actual demographics of the country and access to information being what it is - requiring more than three brain cells to process properly which is something many in the US cannot claim unfortunately - I can confidently say complaining about democrats and refusing to vote for them will hand Republicans and Palpatine the keys to total domination. At least the useless dead weight assholes get in the way and gum up the works on ancient principle.

I never said it was ideal. But it is what we currently have.

“Dem leaders” is a WILD description for a guy who hasn’t been relevant in a decade since losing an election 40%-55%, and some random lawyer.

Writing in the Opinion section of a right-wing local newspaper.

But nice job punching up the headline, month old .ml account! You did it!
