I should have just voted communist or NDP at that election. My vote actually mattered given how narrow the election was in my area. My god how I regret voting for Carney.

He really is beating the nationalism and sovereignty drum while unleashing the neoliberal playbook with his majority.
He’s using his popularity and political power to make things better for wealthy at the expense of the workers.
Which anyone with a brain expected. I’d still take him over the other shit options we had. We all knew that the banker would do banker shit. But he was also the best option available to weather the storm we are in.
The NDP had they gained a majority would have likely been attacked much much harder by the Americans.
The Cons absolutely would have sold us all out at the first opportunity.
The liberals were absolutely going to do neoliberal shit.
None of that is surprising to anyone paying attention over the last decade.
Those angry rust belt voters down south didn’t all wake up one day and said “I really want a racist pedophile as a president”. They genuinely got left behind and bought into the lie that Donald will drain the swamp and fix the economy.
Of course he did exactly what everyone watching closely had expected. We’re not immune and we might get our Trump moment as well. That’ll suck for everybody.
Pierre isn’t even that terrible compared to Donald. He played a little footsie with unsavory characters. Make inroads with convoy supporters, manosphere, but he’s constantly under attack by very extreme right for being a libtard wokeboi. Mostly because he’s still not comfortable fanning the flames of race wars or call for remigration. His culture wars are not extreme enough for those types.
If our left won’t let plebs feel any pride in their life in the country, we can easily have our own right wing populist moment. This isn’t to say that I disagree with you, PM Carney genuinely was our best option to survive the battles imposed on us and I’m happy he’s at the wheel. He still doesn’t have to go acting like he’s living in the post-soviet-moment. That ship has sailed. Stop selling every asset. Stop privatizing everything. What’s he going after next, healthcare?
