  • Mad man yelling at the moon:

WTFC? National and Labour are both neoliberal parties that are robbing us blind. Labour just attempts to make it seem a little less painful. National finds support in “different ways”. I really don’t care which parties are meeting with gang members. I would expect them to interact with gang members to understand how to better fold them into society. This bullshit “gotcha” photo bullshit just shows that the parties are grasping for anything that might change their election outcomes without actually changing their policies which might improve the lives of most people. Fuck the politics. Fuck this stupid fight. Fuck the media for platforming it. It does not matter.

Please consider voting for neither Labour or National. They’ve been bending us over for the last 40 years. It’s been consistently getting worse, not better. Let’s change it.

  • I really wish Labour would see that the electorate has figured out that neoliberal policies don’t make our lives better. They are in the perfect position to lead us through the changes that are coming. Their refusal to acknowledge the need for structural change reminds me of the impotence of the American democrats.

The old tricks aren’t working anymore. They need to reinvent themselves based on what the Millenials and later actually want. Basically: stop robbing young people and giving it to the retirees.

Sorry for the rant. It’s just frustrating to watch.

  • You are right. Labour and National are both neoliberal parties. Labour just seems to make life a bit less painful for people while still refusing to make any meaningful changes. I don’t want three free doctor visits. I want nurses to be paid fairly. I want affordable housing. I want a system that taxes unproductive stuff (land banking) and reduce taxes on productive stuff (income). Labour will never actually do it.

Opportunity says they are into “evidence-based policies” instead of “the same old thing that got us into this mess”. So, they support things that are sensible instead of just left or right. Opportunity and the Greens are the only ones putting forward tax policies that will fix the crappy “nobody can afford anything” situation we’ve gotten into after the whole Rogernomics thing.
