You might find that this game gets a bit difficult and the puzzles ramp up as you go farther along. I did finish the game when I was a kid, but my dad had gotten a walkthrough (that was physical, included a map, and was written from the perspective of a fictional person in the world documenting what they did to get through the game)

The maze and the music tone-matching with the organ were especially difficult if I recall.

Also there are actual novels to go with the world that my dad had too. I never played the other games but the books were okay. They cover the back story of how in the heck do books transport you anyway.

Regarding the part about how much power is sent to a device using a cable, that has to do with the charger (the plug or wall wart the cable is plugged into) and not the cable itself. Usually the charger will have text on it saying what voltage and how many amps it can deliver. And for your purposes of “how much power” you likely want to know how many amps. More amps is more power. But the device you plug in to charge needs to also support negotiating that many amps from that charger (different charger types as well and not all are supported by all devices, they all fall back to few amps if negotiation fails so it will still charge but it won’t fast charge)

Without getting into it too far: it matters more what version of USB or HDMI the cable supports rather than the cable itself.

Ie: the cables are just wires. More wires (according to the usb or HDMI spec) = better cable (okay this is a huge simplification…) But the actual speed and power that can go through the cable depends on the things at either end of the cable more than the cable itself. The cable just connects them.

So I would look for the USB cable that supports USB 3.0 (look for a blue bit on the USB A plug, the plastic is blue to designate 3.0 A commectors) If it’s USB C to C then it gets iffy, there are cable makers that make their cables cheap by providing enough wires for usb 2.0 (or even sometimes cables only have enough to just charge, not send data) but not 3.0. It can also still be worth it to have a 2.0 cable, so I wouldn’t throw those all out just because they’re not the latest and greatest, but the 3.0 ones are the ones to definitely hang on to, and will also have been the most expensive because of having the most wires.

At least then it’s still OK.

Right, the Ford focus I bought for $17k in 2018 goes 350 or so miles on a full tank. I want at least that much range to consider a replacement.

Plus yeah, we’re rural enough chargers aren’t everywhere. Hopefully the range will be better and more chargers in a few years… And probably will keep the focus for the long cross county road trips.

I’m waiting to see regular reviews of those slate trucks and maybe a second model year/iteration. And maybe waiting to see if they eventually get better range. Sure not having a radio or infotainment is overkill, and only hand crank windows is overkill, but for $25k-30k and no big screen, it seems quite reasonable if all I want is a reliable box that moves around.

There’s a certain amount of permitted lost/non-functional products off a manufacturing line. They don’t make the machines as precise and perfect as they can, that costs too much, they make them as fast and cheap as possible and if 5% of the widgets get busted or don’t work it’s likely an acceptable margin of failure to just reject those and move on.

It’d cost more to make the machines better than to just throw those items away or scrap them to some company that could fix or repurpose them.

Why do you think they would have an actual console that they get inserted into?

It’s quite likely they have a programming and/or test system that let’s it get automatically inserted, and then programmed with the software and validated that it wrote correctly, maybe some self-test operation, and then packaged and shipped.

As for line straightness, machines aren’t perfect either, if it doesn’t have to be perfectly straight it likely won’t be, why would they spend time making the machine grab the cartridge exactly the same way every time to make straight lines if it works just fine without being perfectly straight?

Yeah when I was in school it was X for wrong (with the loop as pictured) and check marks for correct. And a check mark can certainly look like a V when going fast. ✔️

Can confirm, Forgejo also has actions that are compatible with github actions. I just started using that a little bit recently. Gitea does too. No reason to stay on github anymore.

Ublock origin has been working for YouTube for me, they’ve had some rough patches where YouTube updated and then they had to update, but it’s been smooth for the past couple years.

Also a lot of the stuff about willing buyer and seller assumes that the buyer has options, I don’t think from the perspective of real people that everyone has that many options, so they end up with loans or other things which are not good, just to be able to afford vehicles to get to work or a place to live.

So a lot if this seems written by a rich person who has always been able to buy everything they needed and more, not someone who is having to go take loans or go into debt just to be able to get to work.

I’ve not found them useful yet for more than basic things. I tried Ollama, it let’s you run locally, has simple setup, stays out of the way.
