Idk if you like quake as much as doom but you can get hours of fun out of a map pack like the quake brutalist jam. Very high quality maps completely for free. Those thousand hours for 4 pounds definitely beat all my top games, I’d say it was worth it.

Now that you mention it I also got PUBG to play at an afterwork event with colleagues. Might be down there with GTA in terms of value for me.
Sounds like mirrors edge is a real comfort game for you. Unless you Speedrun it or something😅

Most value is probably Awesomenauts at around €50 spent and 1950 hours coming to 2.5c/h
Team Fortress 2 is there for me too, about €100 spent and 2200 hours for a shocking 4.5c/h. Still play it to this day.
Minecraft is also around the somewhere but like everyone else I have no clue about hours played. Might be anything from 500 to 2000 hours, impossible to estimate. Since I got the beta or alpha for cheap, I think €10, it might top the other two.
My worst value game is definitely GTA 5. I think I got that at €50 or so directly from Rockstar and only played it for an hour online and like an hour singleplayer. I enjoyed gta in the past but just don’t care for it anymore, got bored out of my mind. Least time I ever spent on a game that expensive without being able to refund.

I remember Marvel vs Capcom 3 being advertised on Newgrounds yeaaaars ago. By Egoraptor and a bunch of other artists if I remember correctly. The animations should still be there.
AI correcting the user is so insane. I’ve had Mistral’s agentic ai (Vibe) confidently tell me that you can’t, in Unity3D, implicitly cast a MonoBehaviour to a bool. Even though this has been a feature since before Unity 2018.
Not to mention I have to delete 90% of the code it generates because it doesn’t serve any function. I’m sure you can wrangle it to write some boilerplate for you but rest assured I’m not impressed by its capibilities.

When I read Rayman I can immediately hear the song of the first level. Insane to replace the ost.
What about the 120 bonus levels? Do those make it worth it? I never heard of bonus levels for Rayman

I would play Eve if running multiple accounts wasn’t the norm… It stifles the MMO part so much when a lot of players just run their own group.
The clues for Bruce are tough but its correct

Sounds like nonsense hyperbole

Reading old game reviews or game development blogs and books where AI was just pathfinding and decision trees is something special.

Some things in the game definitely piss me off. But I avoid ranting about it because then the game would only be about the bad parts. It can still be a lot of fun if you take it slowly.
Big tip for boss fights: turn off the music and it becomes 10x easier. For me the music is way too overdramatic and distracting during a boss fight.
Also it does really get easier when you have more movement abilities.

I’m confused, what dlc? This is a year old trailer for the pristine cut which was a free update.

Moss is great. And I agree that it’s a breath of fresh air from first person VR games. As much as I loved Alyx and Elite Dangerous.
Welp I’m cooked. Back to getting tracked on stock Android it is :/

My bad, thanks for the headsup. Missed that because of the negation. So yeah my original reply is a mess but that doesn’t change that this is existential and the community opposing itch doesn’t make any sense.

Why are you assuming they are grinning about it? They were hosting this all before in a very laissez fair approach. Unbelievable. It’s not “bearing” the payment processors, it’s existential. Either they do as they say or they go offline, how hard is this to understand?

Itch players and devs turning against the itch staff instead of the payment processors is like the friggin ouroboros of activism.
Except an ouroboros can keep going round and round. What these people want would just implode the site in a day.

It’s nice to see a more reasonable response in the comments on Fediverse. On the itch discussion board people are frothing at the mouth posting death threats and the like against itch staff.
The anger is completely misdirected. I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to just let itch drop dead after this abuse from two sides simultaneously. Mega corps and rights groups at one side, and their very own users on the other.
Once this review is complete, we will introduce new compliance measures. For NSFW pages, this will include a new step where creators must confirm that their content is allowable under the policies of the respective payment processors linked to their account.
Itch is even willing to go for partial filtering, what more do you want. The only thing that will please these people is when itch waves their magic wand and keeps everything as is.
