What if they’re American vegans who use the imperial system of measurement, don’t own a bidet, and microwave their water for tea? Should I break out the cross and hammer?

I’m so old that the last time I wrote a research paper, it was on a word processor with no Internet connection or spell check.
Given such constraints, I can’t fathom the concept of waiting until the end to add all the references. If I didn’t do it as I went, I’d have surely died.
I should add that we always read each other’s papers before submission to get a second set of eyes for errors, misspellings, and grammatical quagmires. It was mutually beneficial as the reviewing made us all better. Is that still a common practice?

I don’t think they’re allowed to eat the cake anymore. They have to throw it all away at the end of the day instead.

How cynical have I become that I immediately inferred the purpose of this before reading the caption?
Honestly, on second look, why the hell would a bench even need wheelchair accommodation? They can just sit immediately next to it or in front of it facing the people on the bench.
Specific people. Plural. But yes, real life acquaintances are referenced.
Chuckle? Hell I know full grown adults in their fifties who wear their mathematical ignorance as a badge of pride!
It’s like they’re clinging to their youth so desperately, that they continue on with the high school trope that only nerds who are undeserving of social interaction know math.
Meanwhile, they also tend to continuously moan online how broke they are - inevitably from decades of poor financial decisions that landed them under a mountain of usurious debt with double digit compounding interest.
They also like to get grammatically pedantic on the regular to show off their superior language skills - usually when they’ve got nothing of value to contribute to the conversation or they know they’ve been bested, so better point out those autocorrect errors.

Next up: a full congressional investigation into Wikipedia

This looks like it’s from the exact same playbook as, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t vote for women,” back when the DNC was forcing Hillary Clinton on us over Bernie.

I just got a weather alert for severe storms. If they get rid of NOAA does that mean that I’ve just got to hope for the best at all times?

I archived this cancerous bloated paywalled shit show of a website just on principle

I can’t watch him anymore either.
No issues watching old Robin Williams clips, but I just can’t watch Anthony anymore.

This is a good little illustration of why his passing made me feel like I lost somebody I knew personally
Best I can do is five dollars
Pierced nipples in 1998. That was not a common sight back then.

It still is acceptable. It’s just that today they call it management and human resources.
I think that might be an option with at least two of the three

This just in: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sues the sun for giving away unconstitutional socialist energy.
I’m fifty one years old and just kinda wanna break down what I’ve seen in my life:
My grandparents generation: Was able to buy housing, get healthcare, receive retirement. Note: They lived through the great depression, and categorically never spent any money that wasn’t necessary, even when they had several boatloads of it.
My parents generation: Housing was achievable but not given (I remember a whole lot of single wides, apartments, and duplexes among the adults of my childhood). Healthcare was affordable. Retirement was promised but not delivered.
My generation: Housing was achievable if you moved to the sticks and loved you some Jesus at the local Baptist Church, but not in the cities. We got a taste of healthcare twenty five years ago, but then yeah no. Retirement? Hahahahaha! We got 401(k)s forced in us, and they never materialized into dick. Many flatout vaporized when our marriages fizzled out.
My kid’s generation. Seriously, just die in the street. You’ll get absolute fuck all nothing, and you’ll like it as the older generations blame you for our fuckups.
My great contribution is that I’ll be able to leave my house free and clear of mortgage to my spawn when I check out. She can live in it, sell it, rent it, burn it to the ground. Whatever she wants, but damnit, I’m giving her the opportunity to do it, which most of her peers will never have.
The pervasive, loud, aggressive “America is full of stupid yokels and has no culture herp derp” sentiment seems to have really ramped up in recent years. I really wonder if it’s a side effect of recent politicians pushing increasingly bizarre and oppressive agendas, and actually getting elected.
Maybe we deserve the disdain.
