

Okay… yes, providing a “good life for children” is great.
But it won’t lead to higher birth rates. In fact, it’s correlated with the complete opposite.
I suppose one could make the case that the European social democracies, which have the most family-friendly policies, at least have higher birth rates than South Korea. But even with this reading of the data, it’s a marginal effect at best.
