Internet Explorer is still used by the Windows OS quite frequently. So depending on your definition of “supported” it still kind of is. Plus the internet hasn’t changed all that much, so most websites will work with any web browser regardless of age.

Opensource@programming.dev•We should push other phone OEM's such as Fairphone and Samsung to work with PostmarketOS, GrapheneOS, and Ubuntu Touch
0·2 months agoIt’s weird to group two Linux OSs with an Android OS anyway. One is focused on security, while the others are focused on introducing another type of mobile OS into the market.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•On a typical Linux distro, what information do WiFi access points get when you search for and use another AP?
5·2 months agoOn iOS and most androids, your Mac address is only scrambled per network. So when you connect to the same network again, your device will use the same Mac address. This generally isn’t an issue if you’re using a private wifi network, or any network where the password isn’t public, but for public wifi it makes it much easier to identify you.

Hi, yes, I am real man. Want to go skateboards?
Maybe a hot take, but M$ is, imo, nowhere near as bad as Google or, god forbid, Meta.
Might I ask what’s worse than Google? And then what’s worse than that?

1·4 months agoSorry to reply to a two week old comment, this is their supported payments page: https://proton.me/support/payment-options.
You can use a prepaid visa to buy account credits, or proton gift cards. They don’t support monero, which is really annoying, but it’s not the biggest hassle to convert from monero to bitcoin for a purchase.

31·4 months agoMost open source projects just hit everything with a PoW captcha instead of trying to guess if a user is real or not, so trying to spoof enough to look like a real user won’t change all that much anymore.
TBH, I’m more mad about agregious choice of font than the lack of meme / use of AI for problem solving.
More recently they banned the word “microslop” from their discord server.

The government isn’t the only threat e2ee protects against. When a non-e2ee service is hacked, the data is free for the taking, if the service is e2ee the data is only available from that moment forward. I’m not going to speak for which provider you should use, but you should reconsider needing e2ee.
