The strategy of using Investor money to subsidize while building a user base doesn’t do wonders for price drops.

Currently reading 2666 by Roberto Bolaño. It’s big but I’m committed to get through it, only 900 pages left!

Why are we still letting mullvad be relevant? Until they oust their nazi founder they shouldn’t get a penny or any shared articles.

I was more thinking of scenarios where you wouldn’t hire an artist anyway. But undoubtedly there’s a gray zone there and risk that it’s moving.
What I was trying to say is that if I would’ve just handslopped together an invitation card to my party before, it’s not that big a crime to let an LLM do it now. Even though I would be much happier to see a sloppy handmade card than genslop.

I don’t think it’s a big problem for normal consumers to use LLMs to generate content, no artists are losing their jobs because of that and most people have other vices that are more problematic to the environment etc.
The main issue I see with it is the normalisation of AI which could affect adaptation elsewhere but I think these greedy corporate fucks will go 100% no matter what.
Consumer choice, based on morals or ethics, has very rarely been a major motivator to production (I think, honestly I have no idea).

As an individual, his LLM carbon footprint and money used to purchase AI services aren’t going to matter at all. But him being one of the world’s highest profiled software engineers who’s openly using these tools is very good publicity for them.
I think the anti ai crowd has been focusing on the slop angle too much, the horrible malpractice of these companies is the real problem imo. If it really is only slop it will die out by itself.
An ally gladly cooks vegan, endorses restaurants with good alternatives, eat vegan cuisine.
Everyone has different struggles and priorities. Some people fly, some drive a car, some use LLMs etc. Doesn’t mean they’re evil. For me being vegan is really really easy, and I know that’s not the case for everyone. But I know a lot of people who eat very little dairy and meat because they believe in the cause.
Strictly anecdotal but everyone I know, from leftist to liberal, are positive to others being vegan. They just don’t do it themselves.

The Lewinsky affair moved him up a few notches.
My 10 year old had started beating me at Chess, been practicing on Duolingo. It feels weird but this was the end goal, right? Having them surpass you and all. But yeah didn’t expect it to happen already.

There’s always the space dlc!

I heard everyone reference factorio all over the place but never felt compelled to actually pick it up.
Found out it has multiplayer and had a blast with my brother.

We were discussing how nice it was in the good old days to go into a rental shop and just look for movies based on the covers. Sure this design doesn’t really hit that itch but more information is not always better.
It’d be nice to just have a bunch of movies that are just random within their main category. No algorithms or marketing.

He could’ve been coding as hobby before it I suppose.

If it’s his own products and no-one else needs to work that code I don’t see a big problem with it, but the ways I’ve seen agents treat a code base just to pass tests is horrible.

I hope he at least read them.

While it might not make a difference to you, the accident doesn’t exist. All of the consequences of the accident, from when it did exist and was present, are however very real in the present.

In sure there’s a pretty intense LLM hatred going about, even in this thread. But I’m sure that if it was driven by open source, with no exploitation of cheap labour, focused on building tools to solve problems rather than trying to cram a solution into problems it’s not good at and was conscious about environmental effects and worked to improve them it would see a lot less hate as a technology.
Looks really cool, I’ll definitely check it out! I’m currently working on an action based autobattler roguelite where you’re a robot that improves yourself through modules.
Very different from yours still and just came into alpha testing but will definitely follow yours and see what design choices you made.
