I have it running on a proxmox server on a nvme ssd. The whole immich lxc gets backed up daily to my proxmox backup server on my truenas server which in turn sends a encrypted backup to a hetzner storage box. The setup is pretty much set and forget. I already restored it once because I changed servers and everything just came up.

Me too. I recently switched from NixOS to Fedora workstation because I didnt have the energy anymore to maintain my config. And all my kubernetes stuff got shoved in proxmox lxcs via the community scripts.

That could be. The rebuilding part could be circumvented by building on another machine or using a binary cache.

I kind of dont get, why nixos is not a minimalist distro. You can set up a very minimal nixos machine quite easily.

I used typst for my thesis and a couple of assignments and can absolutely recommend it. Easier syntax and ultra fast compilation.
