Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Virgin Framework vs Chad ThinkPad
0·5 months agoThe price was never the reason to buy a framework in the first place. None of the cheaper alternatuves are as performant and as repairable

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Virgin Framework vs Chad ThinkPad
0·5 months agoLenovo won’t make any nice, repariable thinkpads any time in the near future. Framework is the best we have.
Also let’s not pretend as if Lenovo/IBM are any better companies than framework.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are the majority Venezuelans actually happy trump just stole their president?
0·6 months agoSure thing, but they don’t expect trump to actually improve the state of the country, right? Like, nobody can be this naïve…
These folks have a skill issue tho, haven’t touched my hyprland config in ages. Just don’t overcomplicate/bloat your config, it’s not that hard.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•So apparently full stops in texts are 'passive agressive' now. What other unwritten rules for texting have changed over the last couple of decades?
0·7 months agoWell you’re used to writing “you” instead of “u” while texting (for the record, I also always write “you”). Similiarly, a lot of people (namely those who grew up with phones), are used to omitting full stops at the end of a message, so if someone does it it must be a conscious decision. See where I’m going with this? (Also it’s not like people who use them are immediately sounding passive-aggressive, context matters)

0·7 months agoLeaving out unnecessary characters makes you type faster, that’s also why people write u instead of you sometimes

I’m sorry but my “Has no idea of Nietzsche but thinks otherwise” detector really goes off when I hear statements like “Nietzsche was fascist” or similiar.

Mainstream stuff? Yes. But there will always be devices catered towards enthusiasts that will be open.
