A majority of what I’m seeing might not be bots but is definitely “low effort” as you said. I’ll browse through the Hot posts across all instances Federated with my instance and it seems like most of what I see is just low-effort, copy-paste links with no description in the body of the post and a click-bait title leading to a pay-walled news article.
Now add in bots reposting spam-blog slop and see how it shifts. It seems like 80% of the posts I’m seeing on Lemmy are bots just spamming articles to pay-walled news articles or someone’s news blog, all without any text or description other than a click-bait title, to drive traffic to the site.
The headline sort of implies that he earned it in some way, such as through smart buying/selling, and not stealing it through outright market manipulation and money laundering.
I always use some sort of dark mode wallpaper. I’ve been using a screenshot from the game Elite Dangerous for several years now on my phone, while my PC uses the default dark wallpaper that got set when I updated bios drivers for my motherboard (AMD Ryzen wallpaper). This is a big reason why I have a problem with streaming services these days. With anime, it can get worse when some services only stream in Dubbed or Subbed where you want the opposite. And even with a great fiber optic internet connection the streaming sites will reduce your playback quality like mentioned above, to the point where a few times now I’ve opted to find and download the show elsewhere even though I’m subscribed.

Many of us have been programmed since we were children to see arrested = horrible criminal. My parents will watch local news and spout horrible words at people who are announced detained for X or Y crime, despite them not even being convicted of anything yet. The law here is “Guilty unless proven innocent, and even then maybe still guilty if they feel like it”.
Just in general I’ve noticed an uptick in posts that link to a news article of sorts without having anything else included in the post. Just a clickbait title and a link, likely to draw traffic to their website. I’m getting really sick of finding an interesting post just to be met with a “Subscribe to view article” message instead.

If they don’t get arrested for premeditated murder, then I doubt they’re actually getting in any trouble for planning the murder stalking.

I’m wearing a watch with a sapphire lens right now! From what I understand, the tradeoff between different watch faces are how easy/hard they are to scratch vs shatter, with sapphire being the most scratch proof and a plastic polymer (I don’t remember which) being the most shatter resistant.
They are very hard to scratch, but also probably easier to crack. I’d hate to drop a phone with a sapphire screen.
I see what you’re saying. Using the rhetoric of “There’s no such thing as murdering a […]” is the same shit the Nazi said about Jews. I would rather take a nonviolent approach to this kind of thing, but as another person commented the paradox of tolerance can become a problem. I don’t want to deal with Nazis. I don’t want them in my community. They know they aren’t welcome, so they hide, and only show their faces when they have strength to intimidate. But they’re still here and they still teach hate wherever they go.
One of the things they did to indoctrinate people into Nazi ideology was to brainwash them as children. The Hitler Youth was a big driving part of his power. I think the first step to combat Nazi hate is to teach empathy first. There’s a reason a lot of tattoo artists will do free cover-ups of hate symbols. People change; I want to believe people are inherently good. But until a Nazi sees how evil their beliefs are, they won’t listen to reason and need to be treated as such: an evil bastard.

No I understand that. The S rune on its own has its place in cultural history with all the other Runes, while putting two of them next to each other can only be seen as a Nazi symbol, much like the Swastika. In the modern practice of Heathenry and Paganism (which I practice) it is a very important distinction because the Nazis appropriated so much from European history for their symbolism. For example, the Swastika is the symbol for the Sunwheel, but I outright refuse to use it for anything because fuck Nazis. You can find it in ancient Buddhist temples that long predate Nazi Germany, and it has its own separate meaning for them, but for 99% of people it screams Nazi.
Another lesser known symbol appropriated by Nazis is the “Winged Othala” symbol. The regular Othala Rune is one thing, but adding those little “Wings” on the bottom makes it 100% a Nazi symbol.
I guess one of the points I’m trying to make is to know what is and isn’t some Nazi bs, and that some of those symbols are irredeemable after such strong Nazi usage, but others are just simply mistaken for Nazi symbols when they aren’t. I specifically avoid using anything in my religious practice that has Nazi association, and am ready to explain anything else that people might mistake otherwise.
I’m not disagreeing with that, but to say the Nazi shite invented runes is wrong. I thought it was pretty well known that the Nazis appropriated many of their symbols from historical findings.
The Elder Futhark predates Nazi Germany by well over 1,000 years. Wikipedia says it was used between the 2nd to 8th centuries.
