  • No, I’m pointing out the concept of sampling bias. There are no doubt valid criticisms of the Iranian government as there are with every government.

When I hear Iranian immigrants on cable news being like “it’s good the U.S. is bombing the homes of people I used to live with” I’m like “that’s a crazy take”.

Just cause you lived somewhere for a while doesn’t mean you know what is best for the people still living there. It may imply a certain level of knowledge. But those people can still have bad takes --just like Americans can have bad takes about America-- and those bad takes can be biased by the particular experience they have had and that’s worth considering.

  • He is partially incorrect in his claim about the 2024 primary. We had a primary in 2024 (not a legitimate one IMHO) but the 2024 primary does demonstrate liberals preferring MAGA over leftists.

The uncommitted movement had ~25 percent of the vote in Michigan which was a swing state the Dems couldn’t beat Trump without. The Dems chose to ignore this warning and continue funding the genocide.

The liberals screaming at leftist over the last 18 months stems from leftists having solidarity with the Muslim community in Michigan when the Democratic party abandoned them for their Isreal donors.

Also even if every third party vote had gone to Kamala in every swing state she still would have lost to Trump.

The contension stems partly from liberals unwillingness to think critically about the failures of the democratic party. Preferring party loyalty and rejecting the wishes of the voters over accepting any constructive criticism from the left.

You want to respond by defending the democrats. Perhaps saying people who voted third-party actually support Trump. Any excuse you make for the democrats loss proves the exact point I’m making.

You’ll attack the left even when they’re offering constructive feedback and even when not listening to your left flank means MAGA winning. In other words, you would rather MAGA win than the left.

  • I always just upgrade my PC piecemeal. The biggest component for you to upgrade first would be your GPU. Even a RTX3060 or a RX6600 would be an improvement over what you have there.

If you went with the AMD option and installed bazzite/linux that would be pretty close to the specs for the upcoming steam machine. You would probably benefit from some of the optimizations Valve will inevitably do for their hardware over the next couple years… That is if you don’t need Windows for anything.

On your CPU you have a ton of options on the AM4 platform and 16GB of ram is still very usable.

Or just see what the actual steam machine does on pricing. But I’m no longer as optimistic about that given what Valve just did with pricing on the steam deck.

  • It’s still bad that the most generous interpretation is the DNC is being fleeced by incompetent freelancers.

It also implies that the DNC has little interest in understanding why they lost. No mention of Biden’s age, even if to say it had no effect. No mention of Gaza, even if to say it had no effect.

If they have a better post-mordem, that does explore these topics I’d love to see it.

It makes it seem like they weren’t that serious about beating Trump if they’re still willing to hire incompetent people that avoid tough analysis.

Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer are still the House and Senate leader for the dems. Jefferies is Pelosi’s handpicked successor.

What part of the leadership do you believe has changed? What are their names?
