  • I saw John Goodman at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

  • Thats very dismissive of you and does not fit this community well imo.

That’s not your place to decide.

pushing your assumptions on others is a dick move.

Don’t really know what assumptions I pushed here.

Telling people you feel your existence is denied because someone says “autistic people don’t have powers” is just not a good look. Calling names and picking fights with people who don’t agree with you isn’t either.

Unfortunately for you, I’m not leaving this community just because you want me to. I will be blocking you because I didn’t come here to be called a dismissive dick. I suggest you do the same.

    Have a nice day.

  • I’m just thinking about walking to get to downtown, and there’s no way I could do it without being somewhere I’m “not allowed”.

If I want to cross the 4-lane road just outside my apartment, there is simply no legal way to do it. There is an intersection but no crosswalks and no way to request to cross. I shouldn’t have to have a vehicle just to get from one side of the road to the other.

  • I used to roll with people like that and no, they are not bloodthirsty savages

Fair enough, I have no doubt there are stable individuals that do it purely on the basis of protecting children, improving the community, maybe even rehabilitating the mentally ill.

I was talking more like the YouTube channel People vs. Preds, who seem to be more interested in the money and fame. They escalate for the views and then all their evidence gets denied in court for not taking proper legal steps. The comments on their videos are vile. You can’t help but think some of these people are only here because this is the acceptable hate.

And that’s the point – his stereotyping is not a rational argument or a good point, it’s meant to remind people of propaganda on the issue they were exposed to all their lives, to trigger an emotional reaction in others, to shut down our critical thinking to lessen the likelihood we’ll reject his insane demands.

    …what demands?

  • I recall watching a video about the nature of how things are stored at Amazon warehouses - basically if there are multiple sellers offering the same item it all goes in the same bin. Even if you are providing a genuine product, there’s a very good chance one of the other sellers is not, and that counterfeit gets sent out attached to your seller ID. Then you get a complaint for selling a counterfeit item someone else provided.

Then when that seller is caught and booted, they just register another trademark with 5-10 random characters and do it again. This is causing a massive headache for the US Trademark Office as well.
