0·2 years agoLol, there are just so many random variations of every opening that it’s virtually impossible to know them all. It’s sometimes helpful to see what an opening is called so that you can potentially look it up later, but 99% of the time I feel like Michael in the meme.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•One thing I hope to see in the Fediverse is people engaging with old contentEnglish
0·2 years agoI’ve noticed that some people do use other filters than “Hot” or they scroll back in smaller communities, because I’ll occasionally get comment replies to posts I made months ago. It’s cool to see.

I love that Larson could make this joke with or without the twist on Mary Had A Little Lamb.
Like, it would feel just as much a Far Side comic if her name were Nancy and she had been followed by a duck.

0·2 years agoI was thinking the same thing, but I feel like it probably wouldn’t land the way I imagine it in my head. Lol

The Picard Maneuver@startrek.websiteOPtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•I've read some weird takes about 9/11 already. English
0·3 years agoIt made the world weird - especially politics. I still attribute the extreme polarization that we see today to the aftermath of 9/11.
Don’t get me wrong, I know people had strong opinions before 2001, but it didn’t seem like political party was as significant a part of the average person’s identity like it is now.

0·3 years agoI love hearing about research like this. But yeah, that would be an ethical dilemma. Especially determining how much you trust that your system works, and proving that they are of sound enough mind to make such a decision even if they’re answering yes/no.
