What episodes are they?

I’ve always loved this little comic. Wish it had more words, purely to piss that other commenter off.

My apologies for taking yours, most hypothetical discussions I have still operate under the pretense of reality and what’s currently possible.
I imagine if they were 100% effective by some means, you still wouldn’t be very popular. Lies are a pretty common part of human conversation. You might get sick of them constantly alarming you for small, white lies. Unless you could filter them to only alert for bigger lies, in which case they’d probably find some use by law enforcement and intelligence agencies, but probably still not be very well-liked by the average person.

As am I. Technology cannot accurately discern intent. Fact checking is the easiest way to do that, and only applies to objective truths. Outside of fact checking, it’s completely guessing, and wouldn’t be reliable enough to be useful to anyone.

Would depend how they work, but assuming we’re using conventional technology and not some magic doohickey that can 100% verify the truth, then you’d probably just get shunned by your peers. Technology cannot accurately verify whether someone is lying unless it’s about an objective fact, and even then, its database may be out of date when someone’s informing you of a new discovery. If you’re using an LLM, then it may just make random shit up. And if you’re using a corporate LLM, then you’re transmitting everything you see and hear to some corporation, where they may keep that data for whatever they please, simply so you can have a popup that tells you either a lie itself, or something you should be able to surmise by yourself. You’re not a corporation, so likely people wouldn’t revolt against the glasses like they do against Facebook’s, they’d just stop talking to you.

Just do what makes you happy, then you can say you’re feeling gay, by the old definition.

As someone who’s used Claude and most other big LLMs as part of my job, they’re all absolutely useless. They don’t have the capacity for thought or care, all they are is a word generation algorithm similar to Cleverbot. So you can’t rely on them for useful information, you can’t rely on them for remembering info you told them, half the time it feels like talking to a brick wall (because you essentially are), and their only actual value is to CEOs as something they can blame layoffs on, even when it’s bullshit.

Nobody’s making AGI anytime soon. LLMs do not have any of the baselines required for this. They’re expensive predictive text algorithms, more or less the same ones used in mobile keyboards, but upscaled to an absurd degree. Anyone truly worried about other companies or nations developing AGI has no idea how our current “AI” works. You’re never going to get there by building on them.

Do you have a general favourite?

As one of the many, you mind educating me on those hallmarks?
Dude… How hard are you masturbating that it’s so audible???

Hoot fetish
They’re just really into owls

They launched it from Big MT.

I believe Blahaj is rated E for everyone, but I’m no expert.

Fido, no! Landmines are unethical!

It makes me so ashamed. Because I love Helldivers 2. It’s one of my favourite games of all time, and I play it constantly. When I was just starting out, the community was wonderful. They helped me get acquainted with all the systems, had a very “fun is the most important part” outlook even when weapons were routinely getting nerfed into the ground, and there was even a Major Order to either save some children, or get some fancy new stratagem, of which the community overwhelmingly chose the former. Seeing people claiming to be part of that community do something like this, is an absolute fucking embarrassment. There is no excuse. Man just wanted to have fun, and do something unequivocally good. What the absolute fuck.

Welcome aboard.

It’s a DLC spoofer. Basically, if you can find the files for the DLC (having a friend with them helps, or check the piracy megathread), you can put them where they would normally be in the game files, then use CreamAPI to make the game think they’re legitimate. There are a couple programs to do the latter half of this process automatically, I find CreamInstaller works quite well.

Stellaris. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, and I love seeing it get updated, but for anyone else, all they see is 300 DLC that they need to buy, otherwise it’s a completely different game than the one I’m playing. And not all of that DLC is created equally.
Thanks
