Have you ever considered that the Prime Directive is not only not ethical, but also illogical, and perhaps morally indefensible?

0·3 days agoNeither humanity nor the Federation are run by a military government.
While I agree with you that it’s almost certainly not the intent, we unfortunately have seen that a shocking number of uniformed Starfleet officers sit on the Federation Council.

But I think my answer to the question is “evolution.”

“I bought Stelco because I could not afford anymore having Stelco flooding the market here in the United States to the detriment of my own company,” he said.

I would have liked to have seen LU KALA in the mix - she has good Eurovision energy.

0·9 days agoHaving watched the music videos in the article…they’re all good artists, but I’m not sure I’m seeing any Eurovision winners. There needs to be some arena-filling bombast. If anyone’s seen these artists live, maybe you’ll have some insights.
Based solely on these videos…Rêve could be a good choice. Josiane’s mix of French and English could be a fun way to show off the country, but again…Eurovision is about spectacle much of the time.

0·14 days agoHonestly, I’ll defend the ideas underpinning the spore drive all day. Mycelial networks are deeply weird IRL, and the idea of “what if there was one that grows through subspace” is an interesting extrapolation from that. “Physics as biology” is a pretty fresh and interesting idea for the franchise to explore (and I’m totally here for the argument that they didn’t explore it enough).

If Starfleet disciplinary hearings are directly conducted by the UFP president, that raises even more questions, and certainly doesn’t dispel the notion of a “military government”…
