But this is actually why we decide whether or not we participate in postmortem organ donation while we’re alive - we make the conscious decision ahead of time. Which is still then consistent with the consent argument

I believe it’s suggesting that she fainted after seeing an eyeball in her soup, but, amusingly, it simply fell from the moose behind her (still gross but not as scary/shocking as a mystery eyeball).
I totally forgot about the real commercial part! Thanks for adding that, that’s an important detail, and super funny
I think they’re referring to this video, involving Folgers coffee (satire)

It’s shorthand for “we sold this particular home for 1.02m over (more than) the initial asking price!”
It’s advertising that it’s a hot market and this realtor will get you a ton of money, even more than you will initially ask for. Probably due to multiple bidders.
I think the implication is that the 3 who are eating didn’t know what they were eating, only that the food was prepared. The guy finds a creature (a frog, i guess?), thinking a frog got into his dish, but the cook reveals that the creature IS the dish, which the others find immediately concerning and disgusting.
I always interpreted the creature to be some unknown, unrecognizable thing from the swamp, which makes the idea of eating it even more repulsive.
Boats actually sail on water. I think you’re confusing them with the common basilisk

I think what he’s saying is that they were born into slavery. Yes, they were later freed, but they were the youngest people in that situation, and thus survived until the 1970s with some actual living memory of slavery.
It’s really wild how recent that is though

Sorry about that! It looked a lot more noticeable in person, and I didn’t realize it might be difficult to pick out. I admittedly didn’t even notice the Jazz portion!
Thanks for the reply. That lines up more with what I thought I knew generally (not only about my partner). It seems like the artist tried to set themselves up for some sort of a joke, and I don’t think it landed
I’m a guy, so maybe it’s because I’m not a woman, but I definitely don’t understand the joke here. Does anyone actually expect the left side? I’ve quite literally never once heard anything to suggest that pms is some sort of a positive experience (definitely not a “sexy” one).
To this day, the boomers in my life tell me that “freight trains in the US are the envy of the world.” Ok, great, but it would be nice if it was usable in daily life
I think that’s exactly what that person is saying though. There is plenty of opportunity for good public infrastructure, but bad policy and auto lobbies have prevented them from happening
The point isn’t that it’s making fun of people for being poor, it’s making fun of the poor voting against their own interests and then insulting others along the way for some reason
Something about that depression that looks like a Titan’s footprint is really imposing.
To be fair, the original question did not clearly state it needed to be easy to explain to men. The only requirement was to be difficult to explain to women. So, technically, this answers the question as written.
In the image itself, it directly calls it a “profit motive,” not just a general motive. I figured you may have missed that by mistake, wasn’t trying to be rude.
Then the rest the of the post implies that these other people are able to do stuff without a profit motive, though yes it doesn’t state they have other motives i suppose? But i think that’s the point
I do believe this was the message that was intended to be conveyed by the post itself

One of the main drivers behind this story (i should say, i think one of the main drivers) is the more recent one where a man abandoned his girlfriend in the austrian alps at night and left her for dead, and it turned out he’d (allegedly) performed that same stunt before with a different ex girlfriend (who survived).
I’m sure your personal situation might be “he said she said,” but some of these people are comparably wild
I don’t even know how to approach that but you do you I suppose
