I’m not sure exactly what you mean, but we use our Synology over WiFi (its connected via ethernet to the router though). It runs backup apps but also the computers in the house can mount it as if it was a connected drive.

I use a Synology NAS specifically because I like their app ecosystem.
Edit: I also have used LocalSend and think its great for a one-off device-to-device transfer.

Book of Doors by Gareth Brown. Probably my new favorite comfort read.

A cat and a Framework laptop. What’s not to love?

I have a LG soundbar that is connected to WiFi (for AirPlay) but has been blocked at the router level since we bought it. It has been here for years and has never stopped screaming into the void. Hundreds of times per day.

Upvote because that truly is an unpopular opinion from what I’ve seen and I think they make the Pontiac Aztec look classy.
Looks like a surly old sea captain surveying a storm.

The same person writes Eqonomize! which is an amazing finance tracking program. Eqonomize!

I’m always interested in learning stuff and your short but detailed explanation rocks! Thanks and keep up the good work.

I assume it has a lot to do with efficiency, and correct me if I am wrong, but I think it goes Diesel -> Generator -> Traction Motors

I actually need some kind of unobtrusive noise. I usually pick some ambient scene off YouTube that has a fireplace and rain or rain with thunder.

I think you just described me exactly. I constantly replay a few specific games but very little grabs my attention like the few I love.

I used Linux Mint Cinnamon on my Framework 13 using the 11th gen Intel and just recently upgraded it to the Ryzen 7840U. It works very well with both. For a nicer display scaling experience I recommend the 2880x1920 display.
Not exactly but nearly so. Once it’s setup, go to Network in Finder on the Mac. You should see it there with the name you assigned it. When you click on it you’ll need to give it the user credentials you created when you set it up. You should be able to save these in the Mac Keychain so it won’t ask again in the future. If you have multiple users you can set each one up with their own account on the Synology NAS and they will do the same when they want to use it but with their credentials.
Synology also provides desktop backup client apps for Windows, Mac, and Debian-based Linux distros, plus apps for Android & iOS so you can access the files or backup photos directly to it.
