0·4 months agoYou were very brave, it’s not easy to start directly from Chaos;Head! Taku is a bit like that, and in the end I could even say I started liking him, but it took so long to get to that point XD

Technology@lemmy.ml•Will This Be The True Successor to MS-DOS? – Windows 2.x
0·6 months agoFirst of all, I’ve fixed the first one. Secondly, this is a series written in chronological order, and we have a long way before reaching NT, which will be covered in a future Episode. Lastly, this is a series mostly focused on the GUI aspect, which means that, sometimes, I might not include some unrelated information.

Games@lemmy.world•Tech Otakus Save The World – Robotics;Notes Elite – Review
0·6 months agoSorry for the late reply! I really loved the characters too, especially Akiho (yeah, the article gives that away pretty quickly lol)! And yes, you definitely need a guide, I really have no idea how that system works… I don’t usually mind checking a guide, but I guess that might be a problem for some people.
About Dash, when I tried it, I felt it clashed with how characters were portrayed in the prequel, but apparently, that might be due to an imprecise translation; you should definitely try it with the Committee of Zero patch, as that fixes the translation and consistency issues with the rest of the series. Personally, I’ve played most of the games without the patches, as they’re only on Steam, but I can see why people enjoy them! Maybe that will make you want to try Dash?

0·11 months agoI’ll definitely give Winboat a try, since I need to get MP3tag and Clip Studio Paint working at some point. I’ll also install Cooler Control, just in case. Thank you so much for the help!

0·11 months agoThank you! I ended up adding more fans after the build was done, so I think I fixed whatever issues I was having. I’ll definitely try those two programs tho, as Wine still refuses to work…

0·11 months agoThank you! EndeavourOS seems very friendly in general, and I’m really enjoying it so far. It also seems to lack the usual dose of Arch elitists, which is even better.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Turn your dumb terminal into a workstation today, with X Window System! – GUI WonderlandEnglish
0·11 months agoThank you! You’re right, I’m too young to have been there at the time, but I’m deeply fascinated by these things, and would like to share them with a new audience as well! It’s always amazing to read comments written by people who were there at the time, and see new perspectives!
I managed to obtain an SGI Indy, but I haven’t done much with it yet, I’ll have to research it a bit more. As for Enlightenment, that will be for a future Episode about the rest of X Window System, there were simply too many to include in this one.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Games@lemmy.world•Close the loop. Hack into God. – Anonymous;Code ReviewEnglish
0·1 year agoIt depends on how much detail you want to understand. You can play Steins;Gate and Robotics;Notes on their own, but they are best understood after playing Chaos;Head (personally, I played C;H after them). Chaos;Child necessarily follows Chaos;Head. For Occultic;Nine, you can read it with no prior knowledge, as far as I’ve seen. For Anonymous;Code, you need Steins;Gate at the bare minimum, and at least a decent summary of Chaos;Head’s themes. Anything more is just added references that you’ll be able to get.
Don’t feel threatened and jump in!
