@princessnorah you are so wrong about so many things here…

@princessnorah Again, accusing me of stolen valour feels like an attack. You are not very friendly to me. I don’t think I want to interact with you any more.
@balsoft They can’t arrest everyone. More resistance is needed, not less. You are proposing a non-working non-solution.
@balsoft Another whataboutism? Look, we can go hand in hand spit on Trump’s and Netanyahu’s grave, but this thread started by a russian wondering what’s wrong. Silence does not fix things. That’s definitely a useful reminder. More useful than whatever you are doing.
> Here’s what I found: Once fascists win power democratically, they have never been removed democratically. Not once. Ever.
@balsoft Freedom from oppressive government doesn’t come easy, I know. It’s also not “legal”. Can’t be done without sacrifice. It’s the only way.
@princessnorah If you really are on the same side with me, then you should maybe stop attacking me. I do have a proof, but I won’t post it publicly. Are you willing to jump on a quick video call with me?
@princessnorah https://mstdn.io/@chebra/115060683445200039 I just sent $1000 to a Ukrainian foundation. I do that on a semi-regular basis.
@princessnorah The whole time I’m agreeing with you that US is doing evil things in Gaza. You just don’t want to see it. Because you are just trying to dismiss me. Which is exactly what a fake user from St Petersburg would do, that’s a known tactic since way before both of these wars. Whataboutism all the way. Shut up and put your money where your mouth is, I have already sent the payment I was talking about. Your turn.
@princessnorah you are showing your colors here
@princessnorah Show me a russian who is doing something about it, and I will show you an American who is doing something about it. Let’s see how long we could play this game.
Btw this whole time it would have been soooooooooo easy to prove me wrong:

Show me that russians can do the right thing. I want to be wrong about this.
@princessnorah well isn’t that just another reason for russians to do something against their regime? Many countries overthrew their oppressive governments. It just won’t happen with the silence the russians are choosing. No trust me, I live closer to them so we get much more of their “culture”. They are just trying to wait, head down, until it blows over and then they will act like everything is fine. They are just letting us clean up their mess, while they don’t risk ANYTHING.
@princessnorah I don’t go into whataboutism, and I have answered that before - nobody is “giving a free pass” to american open-source projects. You’ve fabricated that idea. Didn’t I send a link to a Stand With Ukraine github repo? Many american (and non-american) projects use that icon. But russians are just silent. Seriously, try to count them. This evil wouldn’t be happening without their silence.
> I do try and materially make an impact on my country’s policies towards the genocide that’s occurring. I’m a member and participate with a pro-Palestinian political party, and I’ll be going to a protest this very weekend. I can also admit that I am complicit regardless though. Which is something I don’t see often from pro-Palestinian USians.
See this right here, that’s what I want to hear from any “I’m russian, is that a problem” guy. That would be ok.
@princessnorah And that’s why speaking up now is so important. So much that anyone NOT speaking up, is part of the problem. Silence won’t solve this.
@princessnorah Nothing complicated about that. 600 children killed by russian bombs, over 19000 abducted. In the name of all russians and all russians are contributing to it by paying taxes. Think about it - if you stay silent, who benefits?
@princessnorah I see plenty Americans daily loudly voicing their support for Gaza and their disgust about the regime which makes this genocide. But russians? Never. They “prefer to stay apolitical” like this fucker here. Again - think about what putin wants. He is jailing people for holding a plain white paper - because silence is what he wants, and fucking “ordinary russians” and their apologists are happily delivering. SAY SOMETHING! That’s the whole poit.
@3abas I’m definitely not silent about that, are you? Fuck your whataboutism. Another typical russian thing.
@Transhumanist Funny how all silent supporters of genocide “prefer to stay apolitical”. So yes, this is a problem.
@Transhumanist Depends. Do you stand with Ukraine? https://github.com/vshymanskyy/StandWithUkraine/

@AntiBullyRanger At least now I understand how “ordinary russians” came to be. Soon, “ordinary Americans” will be saying how they can’t do anything, because they will be getting arrested for holding a plain white paper. It won’t get easier and the fascist are not going to stop voluntarily or democratically, that’s kinda their whole point.
