Thanks for pointing out that it was Paul not Jesus who said that. I feel silly now. Corrected my comment.

Christ doesChristians do say canonically that the church is like Christ’s wife.Marriage—Christ and the Church
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
(Ephesians 5:22-24)
And bridal theology goes back to the Old Testament, in Song of Songs.

I heard it has to do with what your primary language is. Different languages have different default mouth positions and so speakers of different languages end up with different muscles developed over time.
That unrepentant look on her face. I love it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How did we come to say something courteous to someone after they’ve sneezed
0·3 years agoOff the top of my head, I think something in traditional European beliefs said that the soul was at risk of flying out of the nose when one sneezed. Hence people would say “bless you” in case you died and were at risk of otherwise falling into hell.
(Edit:) This vaguely supports my memory: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_bless_you#Origins_and_legends
I thought they can’t say anything bad online about the CCP.

Yay, it looks great! So happy for you! 🪴
