Tokyo Vice (2022)

A first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat following Jake Adelstein, an American journalist who embeds himself into the Tokyo Vice police squad to reveal corruption. Based on Jake Adelstein’s non-fiction book of the same name.

It captures that 90s Tokyo vibe perfectly.

“Are We the Baddies?” is a 2006 comedy sketch by the British comedians Mitchell and Webb, performed both on recorded television in That Mitchell and Webb Look and live at The Secret Policeman’s Ball.

I don’t know how well it measures up to privacy standards at the level of GrapheneOS, but Ollee might be of interest to you if you want to go the retro route. It lets you convert a standard Casio F-91W into a smartwatch.

I agree, but the main problem is the “years later” part of your experience. Assassin’s Creed had many gameplay innovations with (for the time) amazing graphics that shaped certain game mechanics for years to come, but gaming has evolved…

That’s why many of these former “innovations” have lost their shine and sometimes even became annoying (e.g. climbing a tower to unlock parts of the map).

ENTs hate Q-tips?!

That doesn’t make sense to me. But, then again, you are very small.

What CEOs never seem to grasp in that context is that they wouldn’t just replace their workers with AI but also their customers… AI doesn’t earn a wage and therefore can’t spend it on (unnecessary) goods… No customer, no revenue. No revenue, no profits. No profit, no dividends.

Probably why they’re working so hard on commoditizing basic necessities like food, water and housing into subscription based systems… 🤔

For gaming you can just use steam. You can see which game works and the corresponding distributions/configurations on ProtonDB; Helldivers 2 get’s a GOLD status (https://www.protondb.com/app/553850).

Taiga (https://taiga.io/) could be what you’re seeking.

I bought a Portable Power Station (e.g. Anker SOLIX C300) to use as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for my homeserver (~ 40 Watt) to buy me - or better my utility company - a few hours in case the power fails.

Important addition: You’ll have to set browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh to true in about:config to see the option to add search engines via URL. Otherwise you’ll just see the option to remove them and a link to the add-ons page.
