What makes you think they felt bad about it?

Yeah, because conventions sure keep russians from raping, torturing and murdering people.

I’m sorry, but I really don’t have the energy for a deep free will conversation at the moment. Normally I’d love to, but today has been a tough one.

My worldview depends on us having free will and that we are responsible for our conscious actions, so I don’t think there’d be much of a point in engaging in a debate with you, but thank you for the civil response anyway.

You believe absolutely no one deserves to suffer? Not even those who have intentionally caused immense suffering to others?
I prefer my own private library. It costs, but I don’t have to put up with the smell of piss, bad breath, body odor and noise.

You’re absolutely free to say ‘normal’ instead of ‘atheist’, but you’ll probably get tired of explaining what you mean by ‘normal’ pretty quickly.

We have solutions to carbon, it’s just that the people who have the power to utilize those solutions refuse to do it so they can get a bigger number in their bank account.

He lived a good life, projecting all the good qualities we could wish a man to possess. Confidence, compassion, wisdom, courage and justice. 86 is a long life, all things considered.
Also, he had Alzheimer’s and Lewy body dementia. It’s a loss to us, and it certainly will be to those who knew him. But for him, it was probably a mercy. No one good should have to suffer through such illness.

Our old lady just turned 20 as well. Hope your kitties have many more healthy years ahead of them.

As if it wasn’t de facto legal already. There’s a reason they’ve been bringing them to russia for decades. This is just theater.

“Not fair, you can’t fight back! 😭”

Yammock sauce, obviously. I hear someone has eighty cases of it.

Be seeing you.

I read Meditations and other Stoic texts pretty regularly. They have guided many of my beliefs.

All of this will pass. You won’t necessarily be able to control any of the variables outside of your own life, but living a virtuous life isn’t about becoming the leader of a country or amassing gigantic wealth. It’s about doing the right thing, for yourself and others, when it’s time to make decisions. I take solace in that. I may not always make the perfectly right decision, but as long as I’m generally guided by what’s right, especially when it’s a difficult path to take, I will have lived a good life.
