As a consumer I hate AI-slopped apps. They activly make the experience worse!

3·17 days agoNothig is wrong with a textfile if it works for you. The todo-list apps and time tracking apps just offer easily accessable features like projects, tags, subtasks, maybe some sync festures and import features from some calender or something. So you don’t have to build a system to organize your stuff yourself.

5·18 days agoI stuck with superproductivity. It supperts boards (you can configure your own board, but kanban and eisenhower are build in i think (i dont use that feature) i like how they handle projects and task storage. They have a philosophy of not adding task from a project to the daily clutter, you chose yourself. If helps to not feel overwhelmed and it can store tasks.
Its not that good for lists of things imo, its better for for timetracking. But you can create a task and easily do subtasks and use it as a list. Also I think it is installable via docker but I don’t know, I havent used docker, but a search gave some results.

01·18 days agoI think it’s way too rare for brave to catch strays like this. Like it’s only at some nieche comment section where one person says things like “yea the founder is a homophobe”. I only ever see praise about it (and some people calling it scammy here on lemmy lol)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What lemmy client do you use on your phone? And why?
0·19 days agoIt doesn’t have some basic search features which sucks but same
I am trying at the moment to use a pop-up which suggests different acivities. First when opening an app and then every 15 minutes or so. Works somewhat, I read a few pages because of that, but kinda annyoing when I want to use the app and sink my time in. I try to aim it at my resolve, with texts that help me answer the question “do I really want to do that or am I just doing it because it’s convenient”
Also sometimes going for 100% blocking everything just has a bad yoyo effect, maybe try more of reducing it/ replacing the time spend and allow yourself at a designated time frame to use these attention traps or something idk.
I played a few when they first popped up and the logical flaws in them are clear as hell AI slop. I wish I could remove developers from my f-droid client somehow

I know but I encounter the word swap only there and its annoying
I dislike swap solely because it gets used and when I accidentally open the same file twice then I regularly encounter problems with swap files when opening the file again later.

I (and someone else here) think the mark doesn’t fit because it has a great message about strugging and fighting the greater powers of the world.

0·26 days agoI haven’t used godot, so I only have some surface knowledge of it. One thing being that there are nodes, and that they are quite a powerful tool. Maybe these nodes can store some functions, in which case you only need to be able to write a function, but the structure and overall concept are not reliant on code (MAYBE, I do not know).
but op was mentioning love2d, which I have tried and it is only a framework based on the lua language. if you want to create an object, you have to code it. Which is why I refered op to an actual game engine which implements features to reduce the complexity of coding, being able to draw an object or node or whatever and give it function x as a property is way easier than using a framework.
Godot only needing code for optimization is just oversimplefied and not actually me knowing the engine. As far as I know the nodes lack performance compared to optimized code for the same task

0·26 days agoI am not too deep into the topic but I’d suggest like any game engine over a framework like love2d. Isnt godot like only dependant on coding for optimization (fact check me on this one)? If you want to stick with lua there are also a few options for game engines
