Hi, the most direct one about the hate for cars in my opinion is Carmageddon by Daniel Knowles. Curbing traffic by Melissa and Chris Brunlett is also amazing and it focuses more on the solution. Happy city by Charles Montgomery is also a well done book focusing more on urbanism. To end there are also books about positive human powered alternatives: How cycling can save your life by Peter Walker, The miracle pill also by Peter Walker and lastly Bikenomics by Ellie Blue

3·2 months agoFound this site with a lot of infographics: https://usmapoffline.blogspot.com/2021/07/north-american-rail-map.html?m=0
The rails are there, but I guess there is no economical benefit in renewing them for the owners of cars companies

19·2 months ago“Beyond the subject matter of this litigation, LLMs are already helping researchers across fields achieve major breakthroughs,” the brief said. “Constraining LLM development under a misunderstanding of fair use doctrine would thwart such creative and scientific progress while hindering American prosperity and economic mobility.”
Did OpenAi start developing LLM in the meantime? I must have missed the news
Thank you for the link and informations, I wasn’t aware of the use in playgrounds

0·4 months agoApparentely it’s only considered a dependence and not an addiction, even though there are a lot of discussions about it.
Pathologically reinforced caffeine use induces dependence, but not an addiction.[13] For a drug to induce an addiction from repeated use at sufficiently high doses, it must activate the brain’s reward circuitry, particularly the mesolimbic pathway.[13]
The craziest for me is when the kid steps out: you may be distracted when you are alone (still no excuse) but at least focus when someone you care about is with you. Especially considering that there were other cars waiting at the red light
Yes, that’s exactly the channel i was thinking about. It is full of scientific proofs and goes into every detail of city planning
From what I remember, there is a youtube channel that has more than 100 videos designing a car free city. I cannot find the channel anymore though

Hi, it was me! The developer said that he uploaded the app to the AppStore but Apple is taking long to confirm it
