  • I love that series and I will say I wasn’t a huge fan of exodus at first, but I grew to love it. My main issue was that I like the metro part of the metro games, going up to the surface was always my least favorite part of the games, so when exodus came out, a game entirely about being above the surface, I wasn’t a fan.

But after a few years, I played it for real after playing the other games again, and there is so much good stuff in that game. Lots of new mechanics that were mostly pretty fun, and I really got around to enjoying the story. The way the story centers around a train and all the different characters on the train, getting new members and/or losing them as you progress across the countryside. All the different locations and the types of creatures and people you meet there.

In a story like this, where humanity is trapped in tunnels while the surface is uninhabitable, you almost have to have part of that story be about leaving the tunnels behind and finding life on the surface. I still wish the series had 2 or 3 more games in the tunnels before that exodus happens, but I didn’t get to make the games, so it’s not up to me. I’m glad I got to play it though, and I’m looking forward to playing it again sometime soon. I am incredibly interested in the new game too, looks like a lot of metro tunnels again, plus so much weird stuff going on in the trailers.

  • It seems that because skin color in humans is determined by more than just the X chromosomes in skin cells, this is not the case. However it is the case in some animals, such as cats, which is why calico cats look like they do.

If skin color in humans was due to solely that X chromosome, then yes, at least theoretically a person who’s parents have different skin colors would present both of those colors along these patterns. It would probably be most noticable on mixed-race people but technically almost everyone would have something similar unless both of your parents had the exact same shade of skin color. I think it’d be cool!

  • In no way am I coming to the defense of American cheese product here, but I do need to point out that there are actually 3 different types of American cheese, based on how they are made. True American Cheese (which is “Pasteurized Process American Cheese”), the grosser “Pasteurized Process Cheese Food”, and the absolute worst “Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product”.

If you have never had it before, you should absolutely try real American cheese, maybe just don’t go into it with the expectation that it’s similar to any other kind of cheese (I’m not even sure it could be called a cheese anywhere else tbh but it’s really good). It’s OK on its own, but it’s really good for being used in or on other things.

I’ll just go ahead and admit right now that I’m an American (sorry) and I’m poor, so I don’t have the chance to try the best cheeses, but I have managed to find and try most of the best cheeses that an average citizen can find in the US.

The “prepared cheese food” is the disgusting thing to which you’re referring, that stuff doesn’t even melt which is fucked up. It’s not legally able to be called a cheese even in the US. It is the main reason that American cheese has such a bad rap, the second reason being the “cheese product”, and the third being that even true American cheese sometimes has a fake looking yellow/orange color to it (but white American cheese is also a thing if the colors turn you off).

Actual American cheese is really good on burgers, breakfast sandwiches, and imo it’s by far the best cheese for a grilled cheese sandwich. It melts very easily and the flavor is creamy and delicious. I still don’t know whether it’s actually a cheese or not, but I do know that it is delicious.

One quick way to tell them apart is the packaging: aside from the name, the gross ones are always individually wrapped (because I’m pretty sure it’s not something that could even be sliced, so they just pump it straight into the wrapper or something gross like that). True American cheese is usually not individually wrapped, it’s just a pre-sliced cube of solid cheese (if it is an actual cheese, again I’m not sure).

The weirdest thing to me is that anyone could find the cheese food acceptable. Its not even that much cheaper than the real stuff and it is incredibly gross, the texture is off, the flavor is most similar to vomit. We have other cheeses here, why is this even still a thing?

Here’s is the relevant Wikipedia section if anyone is interested:

Because its manufacturing process differs from traditional cheeses,[19] federal laws mandate that it be labeled as “pasteurized process American cheese” if made from more than one cheese. A “pasteurized process American cheese” must be entirely cheese with the exception of an emulsifying agent, salt, coloring, acidifying agents, and optional dairy fat sources (but at no more than 5% of the total weight).[8] A “pasteurized process American cheese food” label is used if it is at least 51% cheese but other specific dairy ingredients such as cream, milk, skim milk, buttermilk, cheese whey, or albumin from cheese whey are added.[20] Products with other added ingredients, such as Kraft Singles that contain milk protein concentrate, use legally unregulated terms such as “pasteurized prepared cheese product”.[21]

  • My experience with these games has been mostly positive. Played It Takes Two and Split Fiction with my partner. I will say, the writing is god-awful, especially in split fiction (which is especially egregious since they’re supposed to be writers), but we’re there for the gameplay, not the writing.

The gameplay is incredibly broad. We are both technically-minded and have done a little bit of indie game dev, so we were constantly being amazed that they had managed to put so many different mechanics into both games, and still have everything feel so smooth.

It’s really impressive just how much they shoved into those games, but I do wish they had spent a little more time/money on writing an interesting story and developing the characters in ways that don’t feel like the most cliche way possible. Like I said though, we’re there for the gameplay, and it definitely has the gameplay.

  • I can give more of an answer. There is (or was) a birth control method called the sponge, or the today sponge. It is entered into the vagina and pushed up against the cervix, blocking the entrance, and it contains spermicide as well.

In s7e9 of Seinfeld, the sponge is discontinued, causing Elaine to panic (as it is her preferred method of birth control) and search across the city to find more sponges. When she does find and buys a case, she then realizes that even though she has more sponges, she may never be able to get more, and thus starts to debate on whether her current boyfriend is “sponge worthy”

    • Twink - a thin, mostly bodyhairless gay man
    • Twunk - a muscly, mostly bodyhairless gay man
    • Bear - a hairy, thicker gay man
    • Otter - a thinner but still hairy gay man
    • J/O - jerk off
    • Frot - touching two penises together, usually while j/o with each other
    • Top - the person who is topping is the person penetrating
    • Bottom - same but is instead the person being penetrated
    • Verse - likes being both top and bottom
    • Side - I’m less familiar with this one but given the quotes and context I’m assuming this is not a top or a bottom or a verse, but instead is someone less interested in penetration and more interested in body contact and j/o together. *

  • Yes, they do offer them in varying levels of nicotine. I decided about a month ago to stop vaping after doing it daily for 10 years. Ordered some patches and some gum, and while I was waiting on those I tried the pouches. They do work and you can get them in lower strengths to wean yourself off.

If your goal is to quit nicotine entirely, be careful that you don’t just fully swap one addiction for another. I’m still working on getting off of the pouches, but it’s getting better, and my lungs feel so much better now.
