I so despise this meme I can’t put it into words. It’s so stupid. It’s so fake-smart. It’s so repeated. Every time I see it it’s another picture of some pills but with the same text over them. It’s not even true. It’s lying to us. There is no such thing as a “placebo meme” this isn’t placebo. It’s a meme about placebo. And people think it’s funny.
Wow you expect a lot from free entertainment…

A nocebo effect is one in which a patient has an adverse reaction based on their preconceived notion of a placebo being harmful.
Yay, I’m a control group!
Certainly being controlled.
I always upvote sugar pills!
Literally me.
This was a placebo upvote. Studies show that OP believes they’ve been upvoted even if they weren’t.

We know. You still forgot that there. Get your spoon.
Bullsh- (upd00ted)
This is a double blind placebo meme test. I can’t see the OP image.
Skill issue
Technically explaining it makes it a meta-meme, which is itself a very popular subgenre and also gently mocking the audience which we ADORE around here!
In short, this meme was a guaranteed success from the start 😁
Placebos get my dick so crunchy
Sounds like something you should see your doctor about. Ask your doctor is Placebo™ is right for you.
I attended an EMS conference years ago when I was a medic. One of the speakers, a well known ER doctor at the time stated that,
“No matter how smart we think we are and how talented we think we are. Modern medicine still comes down to one thing-- keeping the patient amused while waiting for nature to take it’s course.”
Modern medicine IS amazing. The changes I saw as a lowly medic for nearly 20 years still blow me away. But at the very base level, it still comes down to that. This is why it’s not called “does medicine” instead it’s called “practice medicine.”
That reminds me of a line I like from a friend who is a GP: “We’re responsible for a patient’s healthcare, not their health”. I found the distinction interesting, because I hadn’t considered it before.
This reminds me of the time I played the first half of “Please play this song on the radio” on the college radio station.
I proudly down voted!
