If they truly accepted you for who you are, why would they gleefully vote for the movement that says you, at best, must be a slave to the rich, or at worst, in a concentration camp?
If they truly were trustworthy, why would they support the establishment of a Gestapo that is targeting all that oppose dear leader?
If it truly was just ignorance, not malice, then why do they so fervently remain hostile to the truth so easily available to them about the monsters they’ve supported?
It is pathetic to see so many leftists become fascism apologists when it comes to their parents, their grandparents, their siblings, their friends, etc.

What “love” they’ve ever had for you or anyone else was always overshadowed by their hate for everyone else. And if you’re a part of the demographics they hate, the reality is they ultimately hate who you truly are, and this country burning right now is their ultimatum to you to abandon yourself for them.
No one should remain in contact with these people whenever avoidable. They should be socially isolated for their evil. Refusing to cut ties when possible is continuing to award their atrocities.

The majority of maga people are just ignorant and mislead. Their worldviews are full of contradictions because they focus on one or more core components that resonated with them and they then latch on while ignoring the rest. They’ll happily believe that immigrants stole their job, or ruined the economy, or are the cause of the majority of violent crime, or they vote illegally, or suck up tax payer dollars, or - etc etc. But it only really takes one of those for them to be able to adopt the MAGA brand. They don’t necessarily have to think that those immigrants need to be deported to a country where they have no ties. They don’t know how Stephen Miller is intentionally ramping up violence because he wants it to turn into a blood bath. And they almost never know just how awful the administration is because they get their information of the world around them from a diet of fox news and an echochamber of community members that also only get their news from highly biased sources.
They’re not necessarily bad people. Yes, some of them objectively are bad people. But most of them are just ignorant and surrounded by ignorance.
The only way to rescue them is to keep them in your community and family groups. At some point when the violence is too harsh and visible to ignore, you will have the opportunity to say “This is wrong.” and they will finally listen.

I hate my family not because they are ignorant, but because they are malicious. I actually think my mother is hoping my wife and I are sent to a concentration camp so she can try to have control of our daughter. They are hateful people, and I don’t believe in loving the people that hate me.
Maybe some are misguided and voted all red their entire life and regret it this time. I don’t think everyone that voted for Trump deserves to be shunned. But the people that are maliciously ignorant and refuse to use a dictionary, the die hards, the people that donate, the people that wear MAGA hats in public, the people that invaded the Capitol on Jan 6th, the people that would rather see a dead woman than progress, the people that voted for brown people to be less uppity.
