A long time ago I was doom scrolling Facebook, and I came across an ad for NFL-branded triptych art. This particular ad was in a master bedroom, and over the bed was hung the Carolina Panthers logo with their slogan “Keep Pounding!”

I immediately saved it because of course I did, and now I can’t find it. Still makes me laugh, though.

Having a hard time understanding what’s going on here. That looks like a mirror, so wouldn’t the sign text be reversed?

Probably a phone lens, the air duct looks a lot like fisheye lens. Selfi cam maybe, they mirrored the picture another time so its correct again and explains the horrible quality of the picture.

Or maybe AI improvements automatically fixed the mirror effect.

There is no mirror in the shot, the only reflecting bit is the shower door. The sign is a straight shot from the camera, thru the bedroom/bathroom door, so there’s no reason for it to be mirrored

If that’s a doorway then there’s no door, which is probably okay for a master bath. But based on the trim on either side, that wall is like an inch thick. Which probably doesn’t meet code and would also collapse if you bumped into it wrong. Plus in the shower door you see the reflection of the other part of the bedroom, you can see the corner of the carpet, which lines up with the reflection of the carpet in what I’m suggesting is a mirror. And you can also see the reflection of what appears to be the master bedroom window with either curtains or vertical blinds.

The doorway/wall thickness is a perspective issue, you can see it looks much thicker in the reflection off of the shower door, and there may or may not be a door visible, I can’t tell.

As for the rest, I’m not following. If the doorway is a mirror, why don’t you see any of the bathroom in it? If anything, the reflection off of the shower door make it more likely that the doorway is actually a door way. Or am I misunderstanding what you think is a mirror?

Most likely they’re standing with their back to the sink/mirror and looking out of the bathroom.

RE photographer here. The location of the tripod in the photo was near certainly the only angle in the bathroom that would capture the shower. I might adjust a potted plant, or angle a chair a bit. But we’re paid to take pictures not move dirty laundry, toothbrushes, dildos, litter boxes, etc. You get a flyer beforehand telling you what to do to prepare. If you don’t want to do it that’s on you.

If you’re not going the VPS route it’s even easier. Pangolin handles the wireguard tunnel for you with a docket container running newt. Very straightforward.

      My goals have been:

      1. Avoid opening ports on my home network.
      2. Don’t require people using my services to join my Tailnet (or some other VPN).
      3. Require 2FA/passkeys (via Authentik for the moment) on anything that’s publicly accessible.

There’s plenty of YT stuff out there for Pangolin, but I haven’t seen a lot for their cloud service. Personally, I prefer it to self-hosting it. Similar to tailscale, the free tier meets my needs, and their security team is (hopefully) more competent and better staffed than… me.

Of course, you get what you pay for, but I see this as a similar position as Tailscale & Cloudflare. With my free account, I’m piggy-backing off the security infrastructure of their enterprise offerings. Obviously I don’t get all the fine-grained controls of those tiers, but like the other two companies, they have a reputation to uphold, and from that perspective a breech is a breech. Even if it only affects free tier users, it makes them look bad.
