Example: using the invidious RSS feature for YouTube channels instead of subscribing. RSS also works with Nitter.

    My problem with RSS is the same as with email: I never remember to open it and read it.

    A long time ago, I had a keyboard with an LCD screen on it (Logitech G15), and it had an RSS reader function. It would show me posts whenever my eyes happened to glance over it, without taking any screen real estate on my actual PC screen. It was a perfect setup for me.

    Ever since I stopped using that keyboard (it was getting very old), I’ve missed this function. Never got a habit for RSS since. :(

    I think I should make something like this with Arduino or something.

      You can set feeds up in an RSS reader app like feedly and then just put that app in your doomscrolling rotation

    I’ve tried RSS on and off for 25 years. I just never found a way to use it that isn’t completely clunky. 🤷‍♀️

    I’ve been using the Feedbro extension for Firefox and quite like it. Some feeds display full or almost full articles directly in the reader;

        Yeah, I follow a few YouTube channels with it. I also use the “random Wikipedia article” feature. I used to also track a couple subreddits but I think that broke lately with one of Reddit’s updates.
