For a while I was making them alongside a handful of scrambled eggs as well as chopped onions and peppers to make a mix I would fill into tortillas for breakfast burritos.
I love me some breakfast burritos.

0·7 months agoFunny thing about the Nazis who were hung… A lot of them were hung by a guy named John C Woods who was a drunk and a terrible hangman, so a lot of them didn’t actually get much mercy because they were hung improperly.
Behind the Bastards covered him and I recommend a listen. If I remember right it’s speculated the leadership knew he was a shitty hangman and actually were okay with him fucking it up.
Trayzyn the infinite. He basically runs around stealing shit that he deems of historic value. Sometimes that means entire squads of Marines or other faction’s forces frozen in time.
Edit: I am dumb and thought you were asking “what is this”. Leaving this comment up for anyone who doesn’t get the joke though.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•ELI5 why I logically understand McDonald's food is low quality and bad for me but I crave it like crack?
0·7 months agoI get the spirit of what you’re saying, they’re all habit forming, but fat and sugar (IE: carbohydrates) are macronutrients our bodies need to survive. Obviously they’re not needed in the quantities that are available to us in modern society, but our biological desire to seek out high calorie foods is a survival mechanism rather than what happens with other habit forming substances like tobacco.
I don’t mean to nitpick here but I feel like that distinction is important because saying “sugar and fat bad” without a little nuance can miss lead folks that aren’t properly educated on nutrition, which in my experience is a large portion of my fellow Americans.
Edit: just wanted to add here that there’s another comment by someone else who more or less states the same thing, but makes that distinction and I have no problem with it.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Valve makes almost $50 million per employee, raking in more cash per person than Google, Amazon, or Microsoft — gaming giant's 350 employees on track to generate $17 billion this yearEnglish
0·8 months agoI think the difference here is that Valve isn’t forcing a monopoly in the way our tech overlords like Google and Amazon do through acquisitions and regulatory capture.
Several companies have tried and mostly failed to compete with Steam, I’m primarily thinking of whatever the EA and Ubisoft launchers are. The two closest have been GOG whom I would argue is fairly successful considering what their goals are and Epic, whom I would say is much less so.

0·9 months agoYes, but when was the last time these guys cared about “precedent”? I agree in thinking Pharma wins, but only because money. One CEO visit to the Whitehouse and some brown nosing and Trump will start saying how they’re “good people”.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People aged 25+ How often do you hang out/see friends?
0·9 months agoI feel like you more concisely summarized my early 30s life perfectly. Most of my old friends just went their own way and there’s no major drive to reconnect now. It’s just me, my wife and my son. Everyone else is basically coworkers and my own direct family.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People aged 25+ How often do you hang out/see friends?
0·9 months ago33 at this point. I get a decent amount of socializing with my coworkers to where I don’t feel a “need” to socialize. I’m a fairly chatty person, so that may be a result of who I am personally wise.
With that being said, these are strictly coworkers and not “friends”. I would consider them more positive than a stranger by far, most experiences are warm and positive but not a “friend”. Oddly enough despite my ability to socialize well, most of my friends drifted off to do their thing after highschool, so I barely see any of them.
I can see this as detrimental to some folks but I haven’t really been affected… Yet. I can’t rule out thehcchanfi in the future.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Texas National Guard arriving in Chicago
0·9 months agoI think part of the point isn’t so much to dunk on these dudes specifically (although they’re not great people for choosing to actually go so I don’t feel bad for them) but rather to point out that not even a week ago Hegseth was yapping about the “ideal soldier” to a room full of men who are way more knowledgeable and qualified than he is. Meanwhile the only folks that seem to wanna actually do this shit in Chicago are less than ideal specimens by Hegseth own fucked standards.
Abso-fucking-lutely well said. Codos to you for having the strength of character to admit your failings and be able to reflect on them. A willingness to say “I was wrong” without throwing a tantrum or doubling down is sorely needed in this world.

0·10 months agoEven Nazi Germany had “good Jews” who would cooperate with the Nazis. Some of the top ranking Nazis each had their own “good jew” that they were sympathetic towards including Hitler himself. They thought their status as “one of the good ones” would save them. Other party members, especially the SS, would hold them accountable and even the “good ones” got “taken care of” sooner or later.

0·10 months agoI agree with your sentiment, but just to be clear in US presidential succession the vice president (Vance) is next in line. So while I think he’s a piece of shit and wholly incompetent, he is actually legitimately president if Mango Mussolini croaks.

No shenanigans, no chance of becoming a spawn as long as I do what I’m supposed to, and although he’s not gonna protect me he also isn’t gonna backstab me.
Maybe I can forge weapons or something while blasting Amon Amarth? I feel like that’s Khorne enough.
