I doubt they’re offended. It’s more likely that, as a leftist, they are justifiably concerned about being provoked into making illegal (if morally justified) threats. There’s a long history of state agents infiltrating leftist spaces to provoke illegal behavior (which is often made illegal specifically to target leftists).
I have had multiple comments removed for “misinformation” because I outlined historical context that goes against anti-communist rhetoric. All factual stuff that anyone could google, but it makes communism look not terrible so the mods of .world removed it.

Yes they do, all the time. I wanted to vote for Bernie in the 2016 election, but I actually voted for Hillary because I thought that splitting the vote would let Trump win. If we had ranked choice, I could have put Bernie on top while knowing that I wasn’t opening the door tor Trump.

That being said, they will absolutely move mountains to block anyone remotely socialist from gaining power. The only reason Mamdani won the primary is because NYC has ranked choice voting.

Not sure about this picture, but generally Soviet blocs were built with lots of surrounding green space, all the amenities you’d need within walking distance, and the rest of the city connected by public transport. Way more human-friendly than the US suburban hellscape.

Meh, China’s influence in Africa has been orders of magnitude more benevolent than the US’s historical actions. I don’t think there should be any global superpowers, but if there has to be one, I’d rather have a socialist-aligned country than a capitalist one on top.
