  • I think of this every time I see some egregiously fascist behavior on display in the Trump admin getting defended by people who think the left is overreacting. I wish more people knew about this and understood that it’s not some left wing looney saying it, it’s a guy who lived through it and can identify it for what it truly is.

  • Trump blew up the economy only to pause or walk back every single one of his stupid tariffs that were supposed to “make everybody rich” and bring manufacturing back to America. Could have seen that one coming from a mile away.

And we’ll never know the terms of the new trade deals he negotiates, only that they are great and better than before and that we should be thanking him on our hands and knees. As if anybody actually gives a single fuck about whether or not the U.S. runs a trade deficit.

Mark my words, these tariffs are never going to go fully into effect for any significant amount of time. One day into their implementation and it was clear how damaging and destructive they were, so they got paused to halt the chaos. Trump now needs a way to pull back on the reins and rescind the tariffs while still looking like he is emerging victorious. I expect more “breakthrough trade deals” in the coming weeks. In spite of this, however, the damage to the trust in American stability and economic certainty will probably never recover from the absolutely idiotic implementation of these tariffs for the sake of gaining negotiation power when a phone call could have had the same effect.

  • Palworld did more for the monster-collecting genre in one early access title than Pokémon has in the last decade of AAA titles.

Why does Nintendo deserve these patents when they aren’t going to produce anything meaningful with them and simply weaponize them to squash any real threatening competition?

Pokémon is the highest grossing franchise in the world, and 2nd place isn’t even close. I think they can give a little ground to an indie developer who makes games that people are actually interested in playing. The patent bullshit is ridiculous.

  • I know it’s going to suck for a lot of people, but I hope that nobody buckles under Trump’s trade war pressure. Let the shitty Trump tariffs be the torch that lights the funeral pyre that is the husk of what used to be the United States.

Trump is just a symptom. He could get drone-bombed tomorrow and nothing would change. The people who were complicit in him regaining power must be severely punished, or else they will simply fall in lockstep with the next Republican stooge, and the only way to properly punish them is to inflict the maximum amount of suffering directly to them. Economic suffering is the bloodless route, and one that will be very effective in breaking the spell of propaganda.

  • I do live with my parents. We do own our own house. You make broad generalizations about why everybody else is less successful than you, but you clearly have no clue what life is actually like for people living in America, or what actually working for a living is like, rather than just inheriting 500k euros and having your money make your money for the rest of your life like a rich cunt. Must be nice to have a golden parachute you can rely on for the rest of your life, but most people don’t have that luxury and we want to make things better for everybody, not just the owner-class or the capital-class of folk who have long since pulled the ladder up behind them.

The staggering ignorance on display here is why nobody is taking you seriously, and don’t you dare blame it on mental health or autism. You don’t get to come out loud and proud as a person who lacks empathy and then blame it on external factors when you get called out for being a piece of shit.

    Don’t bother with a reply, you’re a waste of oxygen. Blocked. ✋🚫

  • You know what work reform I’d love to see? One where pay is based on production. Not time.

Funny, that’s what we want too. Production now is higher than ever before in the history of humanity, yet our wages and salaries have been stagnant for decades. If we are producing more than ever before, why do we need to work so many hours per week? We should either be fairly compensated for that productivity or we should not be required to produce more than we are fairly paid for, which should translate to either a drastic salary increase to match the increased demand for productivity or a drastic decrease in hours worked (without a reduction in pay, since you agree that pay should be based on production).

  • This implies that the bar has nowhere to go but down, except that we know good Star Wars is capable of being produced. Andor is fucking phenomenal, hands down the best thing to have ever been spit out by Disney since they acquired the IP. It’s not a sure bet that time will erase the stains that the sequel trilogy have created on the Star Wars brand. The prequel trilogy may not be perfect, but it felt more like Star Wars than the sequel trilogy ever did.
