My 70 year old boss and his 50 year old business partner just today generated a set of instructions for scanning to a thumb drive on a specific model of printer.
They obviously missed the “AI Generated” tag on the Google search and couldn’t figure out why the instructions cited the exact model but told them to press buttons and navigate menus that didn’t exist.
These are average people and they didn’t realize that they were even using ai much less how unreliable it can be.
I think there’s going to be a place for forums to discuss niche problems for as long as ai just means advanced LLM and not actual intelligence.

Too bad it’s not retroactive, but it seems cool to at least start

Because it’s the only other thing about that system at all. OP wasn’t teaching, just showing what that system does. If you looked for a source that explains it you’d be told

Getting banned from hexbear is your initiation into the broader world of lemmy. It happens to everyone who isn’t a tankie at some point. Wear it with pride
This is the way. The constant bickering over the concept of “liberal” vs “actual left” is as exhausting as it is mostly futile.
but the only way to make Biden look good is to compare him to Trump
In a recent survey of 154 historical scholars measuring presidential ranking through the accomplishments of all 45 presidents, Biden ranked 14th, while Trump ranked dead last.
Its easy to say Trump makes another presidential option look good, because that’s absolutely true. But it’s a little dishonest to say that Biden’s not a decent president with a list of accomplishments that stand independent of Trump.

Oh absolutely. In Japan for example if you are unable to work or you get removed from your career, it is socially understandable for you to consider suicide. Lots of Japanese citizens put their job before even their families or the potential of having a family.
It’s actually pretty fuckin crazy what Japanese work culture does to their citizens.

Quiet quitting has always referred to the extra bullshit that employers pressure employees into doing.
In America we’ve fallen into this work culture that implies you aren’t really part of a team unless you are constantly putting forth more than what the employer is paying you for.
The undertone of this headline is that managers feel uneasy because so-called “quiet quitters” won’t take on extra work or unpaid hours or exhibit overwhelming enthusiasm, but just do literally what they have to at a passable or high quality.
The gaslighting part is that those workers aren’t doing anything wrong, but they aren’t bending over backwards for their employers, so corporate America wants to paint the picture that those workers are awful time thieves instead of just burnt out wage slaves.

I think the “rogue” in rogue-like refers to the fact that you start over if you die. Not the similarity to the actual game. Am I misunderstanding you?
I think I get what you’re saying, that rogue-like was named after the game and therefore this genre should be named after slay the spire. But I think Rogue named the genre because there wasn’t anything else like it. Slay the Spire is still at the end of the day a mashup of two existing genres.

I really think it deserves its own genre. Games like Cobalt Core, Balatro, Tower Tactics Liberation, Alina of the Arena and Loop Hero are all unique in their own right and differ greatly in gameplay from Slay the Spire and each other but still hold to the deck building rogue-like core.
Slay the spire is the granddaddy of the genre, but isn’t the single defining example by far.
Is it really an ad though? If you aren’t using edge it’s because you prefer something else, not because you don’t know about it. Microsoft tries hard to maintain edge as the default.
It’s not like this post highlights its capabilities or makes an argument for edge vs other browsers.

1 in 3 women experience sexual assault of some kind in their lifetimes. 99% of the perpetrators are men.
It’s not unreasonable for a woman to avoid putting herself in a situation that a potential predator can take advantage of or retaliate against her for. Talk to a woman you know about this. I’m tired of having this conversation with men who don’t understand and just get offended.
So this sort of shit feels wrong in that sense and of course hurtful when you’re at the receiving end of a negative blanket statement
You have been on the receiving end your entire life if you are a man, and 9 times out of 10, you have not noticed because it does not affect you. It’s not about you, especially if you aren’t a predator.

Woah now, you better not be insinuating that men and women are anything but exactly equal in their temperament. The salty dudes on Lemmy won’t let you get away with telling them otherwise.
I’ve been in a handful of conversations over the last couple weeks with men on this platform that don’t understand the concept that women have to treat men a specific way for fear of the few of them that can be violent.
Apparently watching out for your own safety as a woman by treating men differently is sexist and completely unacceptable.

While I agree with you that the teacher in this post is wrong about what this is, I don’t think labeling “gender bigotry” indiscriminately as something both sexes do under one umbrella is accomplishing anything but minimizing the struggle women have endured for basically all of human existence up until the last few decades.
Personally, I wouldn’t fault this woman for thinking what she does if she’s willing to accept a broader explanation later, given that women have literally been sold as property up until a couple hundred years ago.
Women have the right to at least posit the ways they as a group have been held down, and that includes accepting their indignation and allowing them grace for when they’re wrong, because without those things they won’t actually learn the truth.
Further than that, I think it’s necessary for women learning now to have the same realization this one did that women throughout all of history save for this recent tiny sliver have been oppressed. Even if it’s built on an incidentally faulty premise, that doesn’t mean the realization itself is wrong.
Covering up the discourse by labeling the process of realization as “gender bigotry” is itself an attempt at erasure, and very much puts you on the side of the oppressors, just because you think it’s distasteful to have this realization yourself.
I’m sure gender bigotry exists in the direction of women towards men. This ain’t it.
My wife left me for a Machoke. Male standards these days are ridiculous smh
I’d be more inclined to see your point, except that the manager in question said “each job requires 2 weeks notice” like he was indignant that he didn’t get something he deserved.
That’s not only not true at all, it’s active manipulation on their part in a hail Mary attempt to have their work covered for enough time to look for another employee.
It may be unprofessional to quit without notice, but it’s really unprofessional to present the act of quitting as requiring 2 weeks’ notice, particularly in a place that might also allow the employer to fire someone for any reason at any time with no notice.

In this thread: People who don’t like a genre of game, criticizing games for being that genre
What I’ve read so far about each of those cases is that nato was deployed to either halt a genocide or suppress a terrorist organization. Both of those things are still defensive actions.
Though I guess they could be interpreted as aggressive by countries that are pro-genocide and pro-terrorism, so it makes perfect sense that a Russia/China instance would be pissing themselves.
Your fears are based in the aggressive nature of the countries you simp for, so do carry on. Nothing I say is going to convince you one way or the other if you’re already eating the propaganda cereal.
The biggest factor for me was that it just felt better on a handheld platform. I put dozens of hours into that game on my android
