More Everything Forever. Pretty good overview of the rationalist and effective altruism movements that have turned Silicon Valley and the AI industry into what it is today. I have heard the author say in interviews that a good alternative title is “These fucking people”.

Yeah I get what you mean. Some insights but it’s a drag getting through it.

Just finished the Nord Stream Conspiracy and it was entertaining, gave a bunch of background I didn’t know about. Jumped back into the Phoenix Project, a book about DevOps, and a book I have to read in small bites because it stresses me out.

Iran doesn’t have any. That fact that this idea has been normalized is ridiculous.

I am new to Linux, why is Heroic better than Lutris?

I run a Tailscale network on my devices and I use Mullvad exit nodes, I have found that to be an extremely frictionless setup especially running on my family’s iOS devices. What are my alternatives now, I can’t seem to find anything that is as easy/practical for my setup and for non-technical users.

My thoughts and prayers to my USAien sisters and brothers

Is this not what a consultant is?

Fair. Good answer

I’m sure you are much more familiar with internal workings than I am, but isn’t the playing field so different now due to machine trading?

Markets don’t react as human traders would because of algorithms buying up dips and other black magic rules that happen in milliseconds.

If Hormuz was closed in 1998 markets would have been in a panic, and when it happened in 2026 it was a small blip.

There are plenty of deep rooted problems with the current economy that I think makes it fragile- Among them, the fact that without data center buildout, the US would be in a recession.

So while your post makes perfect sense and I agree with all of it, I just don’t trust markets to follow the same laws of physics as the rest of the universe.

I use mullvad via Tailscale. It’s a little different as you don’t actually ever have anything to do with mullvad, you pay Tailscale for the service ($5) and then you are able to use mullvad vpn exit nodes. It took me a little while to figure out cause I kept looking at their mullvad website and thinking how on earth do I make them work together

Great series! My wife and I are tired of waiting for the next book though 😭

If the lack of tails on sperm indicate monogamy, do the tails on human sperm indicate non-monogamy?

Maybe just reference the book and it’s details on her Wikipedia page

Well, I suppose they could buy access to Amazon’s kindle servers

Wow

Which protection did you grow up with?

Could you elaborate a little on your setup? Sounds interesting

Could you explain how you use explo?

I am in EU, but likely a different country. I dont think we do Visa credit cards here, the only credit card around is Mastercard, all Visas are debit. Weird how that’s different
