I’ve seen the same arguments against liberals here used against Bernie Sanders on Instagram. “Why aren’t you doing more about Palestine?”, “Why’d you let this happen?”, “why are you too powerless to influence policies?”. I know some bots follow a script. The only difference here is the framing.

politics @lemmy.world•Senate rejects extension of health care subsidies as costs are set to rise for millions of Americans
0·7 months agoIf someone from the right had said this, you would think they’re irrational cultists just trying to support their cult. I used to think the left is the way to go, but after coming here, not so much.

Memes@sopuli.xyz•Men after finding out what women's romance novels are actually like:
0·7 months agoThe “Men writing women” subreddit are about sentences. “Women writing men”? They’re entire novels.
Of course don’t just ask the engineer. Any piece of code written by the engineer should ultimately be tested by a separate testing team before getting pushed to production. Ideally you have a performance and regression testing team that would help evaluate the changes being introduced and how it compares with the existing.
There are ways to know. Did the manager ask for proof of concept? Asked for performance tests of the update and compared it to existing/baseline?
Technical managers exist. Yes, it’s a manager’s responsibility to understand the field he’s working in. He doesn’t need to be a more skilled engineer, but he needs to understand what his/her people are saying.
Fire the manager too.
Yes, but more competent, not cleverer. Some managers aren’t fit to be in IT.

Technology@lemmy.world•Windows 11's adoption is much slower compared to Windows 10, claims DellEnglish
0·8 months agoFor almost 20 years, I’ve never lost hours of work due to the OS. The Crowdstrike incident was one of three times I was interrupted by the OS in the last 2,3 years. All of the interruptions are from Windows 11, not 10. This week for, for some reason, Windows is slower to respond than usual, when going to different tasks. I’m one formatting away from getting rid of the Windows 11 in my laptop. I was thinking of dual booting Mint there but it’s looking more and more I don’t need Windows. Bazzite has been fantastic.
Twitter is still popular. Most people are just never going to leave it. I don’t think they care either way whether the location feature exposed anything or not. Musk gets people talking about his platform and that’s all he cares about. Most people are like leftists. They will complain about things, but won’t really do anything productive to help realize meaningful changes.
Who better to come up with a scale than a connoisseur.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do each gaming fraction (pc, consoles, mobile) hating each other?
0·8 months agoWith guitars, lately it’s been about made in the US/Japan/Europe vs Made in Mexico/China/Korea, or digital vs solid-state vs tubes, but essentially the same. Everyone’s being marketed to, and it doesn’t matter which you choose, you will end up spending just as much money. Best thing to do is get the gear you like, and spend time with said gear(/get off the net and marketplace). Not different from gaming.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do each gaming fraction (pc, consoles, mobile) hating each other?
0·8 months agoAny hobby that costs money will have factions. Camera gear has your Sony vs Nikon vs Canon, you have Android vs Apple for mobile phones, etc. The more money you spend, the more you speak out against other choices. As evidenced by this post, PC parts cost a lot of money…

Technology@lemmy.world•New Study: At Least 15% of All Reddit Content is Corporate Trolls Trying to Manipulate Public OpinionEnglish
0·9 months ago- Post problem with product that’s not really a problem.
- People instinctively express their dislike of the product.
- Corporate troll posts solution, or inconsistencies with the post. “I’m not really a fan of ___ but this is a you problem. They even have a feature to help with such a problem. You people are overreacting. Did you even read the article? You losers should get a life.”.
- People are now discouraged to express problems with product, even getting sold on a feature.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Gaming Copilot Is Watching You Play Games and Training Off Your Gameplay, Unless You Turn It OffEnglish
0·9 months agoIf I were Microsoft, this is exactly how I would convince users that Copilot is totally okay. Say something that’s worse than what they’re doing and then debunk that. At least MS is not spying on my games! You guys are just blowing things out of proportion.

Bernie’s been in politics for decades, and how dare he’s not done anything about this! I don’t care if he’s in the minority and by definition the country is conservative but why the hell did we just vote him in? He’s really just Republican light!
