Peaceful protest won’t stop them from staying in power. We, as a people, have had all the warning for what’s coming, and yet I don’t know of anyone suggesting a realistic, practical plan to combat the theft of power that’s going to take place.

Any Federal politician who actually cares should be giving public statements about what responses will occur if election results are denied at various levels, should be inviting international observation, should be responding to voter expungement, should prepare responses in case of ICE intervention at polling places, etc.

And everyday people… we should be like the French: angry, motivated, and ready to take the kids gloves off. People should be prepared to be arrested, prepared to go on strike, and prepared to be disruptive.

If any offices are stolen, there should be fires and barricades.

Republicans don’t need to “seize power”, nor do they want to (in my opinion).

Democrats will win, the Republicans count on it. They’re a tag team. One is the heel, the other is the face.

Answer me this… if the Democrats are truly “the good guys” why can’t they ever roll back Republican changes? Every term, they can’t manage to reverse the vast majority of Republican tax cuts (for one example).

Amazon, Tesla, JP Morgan, et al always coincidentally gets what they want.

Our political system is fundamentally deceptive and has been corporate owned for decades.

Re the French, they are in a country that’s smaller than one US state with four times the population density. Getting thousands together is much, much more difficult, and it won’t happen in most of the country, just key cities (like NYC and LA).

All of this talk of revolution is what the Democrats are for. They’re a release valve. The Republicans won’t seize power and bite the hand that feeds them, there’s enough money for bOtH sIdEs to get rich, win or lose, they both get a billion dollars an election.

They won’t get that money so easily if there are no elections. It’s a massive money laundering scheme, and they don’t even have to hide it.

We’ll see in a couple weeks.

There’s no need to riot in some rural shithole with 30 people. The big cities are all that matters, that’s where the money is, where it hurts. That is not an excuse not to riot.

I get it, it’s harder to meet up for a big riot in NYC, when living in bumfuck nowhere, but the people in those dense areas should already be more than enough, if they commit. The ones in the nowheres of the country can show their dissent other ways, still, or find a closer riot nearby.

Someone asked, “Why do some British people not like Trump?” An articulate and witty writer wrote the following response: “A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace. So, the stark contrast does throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief. Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty, or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I do not say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it is a fact. He does not even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty. Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he does not just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and automatic nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance, or depth. It is all surface. Some might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we do not. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He is not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He is more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege. And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully and racist. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down. So, the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a few of us– of look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that: You do not need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man. This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty hard to miss. After all, it is impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumps of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created? If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.

Why is the part about Obama cut out?

“For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.”

      And this sentence you use:

"And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully and racist. "

Why did you add “and racist” to that? He never said that.

      And this:

“– perhaps a few of us–”

      should be “perhaps a third”

Then, after “given that” there should be two points, the first of which your completely left out. Plus, you also left this entire sentence out: “He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart.”

The piece was good enough without being altered, especially if you don’t tell people you’re editing it. Explain why you did this, please.

      Also, please add paragraphs. ;)

Source or if you want the -real- source, I think it’s somewhere on facebook or twitter, but I prefer not looking for those and I don’t have accounts for either of those anyway.

Edit, found the article that links to the twitter posts, if anyone wants to give them clicks.

I suggest a horrible debilitating stroke that makes it impossible for him to move or talk while in unbelievable pain for every moment. He gets every treatment recommended by RFK which hopefully includes bleach. Ideally it will be nearly impossible to sleep, but enough so he is able to fully experience it. Hopefully the medical professionals will be able to keep him alive like this for years, ideally a decade and then finally someone will have the compassion to pull the plug so he finally starves to death.

One of my teachers in a humanities related field said she had a dream where people were running through the street and making tons of noise at like 2 am that woke her up, and they were just screaming “HE’S DEAD! HE’S DEAD!!”

So that’s how people in the humanities are doing, if anyone was curious.

I think every option other than Trump is better than him simply because the popular mandate can’t be had by a freak like Miller, it can’t be had by a rizzless baffoon like Vance, a stuffy devil in a suit like Vought, a sniveling gremlin pedophile like Lutnick, or a out and about Jewish Supremacist like Kushner. The only person I worry about being in charge is Tucker Carlson. Given how the world only ever seems to get worse, I think this would be the end result. Most of my predictions are true by imaging the worst possible scenario. The only upsides to him is that he’s made a lot of enemies, but I think he’s demonstrated his ability to lie his way into power and I don’t think that would be a saving grace for us at all, we’d probably be fucked, and he’s definitely smart enough and charismatic enough to achieve most of his white supremacist goals. The best case scenario is Trump having a stroke while complaining about Tucker being a traitor.

Globalist left-wing have treasonously imported millions and millions of third world migrants who are totally incompatible with the West, and they are incompatible with Western values. They despise everything about France, and they’re destroying that country, and we’re not going to let that happen to this country,” Trump said during his speech. Despite interruptions by protesters, the crowd broke into applause at Trump’s words.

    Which is ridiculous mainly because:

    1. Rioting has always been France’s national past time, even when they stormed the Bastille last weekend, that’s tradition at this point.

    2. Republicans want everyone to forget they’ve spent the last 25 years shitting on France already. How is it burning down now if it’s been burnt down for a generation? No one has talked more shit about France than American conservatives… Now they suddenly love France?

“The browns are coming to rape your women, steal your hard-earned consumer goods, beat you to death, and burn everything down.”

That’s the message that resonates the most with Republican voters. It’s galvanizing and makes them “circle the wagons” emotionally, so it’s no wonder that they use it again and again and again. According to Fox, NYC, Chicago, and LA have all been burned to the ground at least three times each in the last decade. And they’ve been pointing to Europe as a racist’s cautionary tale for at least as long.

Yeah, but they’ve spent literally 25 years shitting on France because they asked for evidence after 9/11…

It’s been beat deep into Republican voters heads that France is bad and they don’t like France. They fucking renamed French fries, “freedom fries” never caught on, but you still get looks/comments if you don’t only say “fries” when ordering them.

It’s not like one cognitive dissonance is enough to wake them up, but this is a complete 180 on a main talking point out of nowhere, I can’t think of a single good thing trump has ever said about France.

Republican voters won’t change their views over this stuff, but when faced with uncomfortable truths like this, their default is to check out of the conversation. This won’t motivate them to vote to save the French, this will make them tune out to any future political messaging, and not vote.

They’ll just pretend there isn’t an election rather than have to use critical thinking to try and justify it

the odds of democrats sweeping the upcoming senate elections, including every single one of the twenty-two republican-held seats, is as close to zero as you can get without actually being zero.

then on top of that, you have ‘unreliable’ ““democrats”” holding office which you can’t count on to vote with their party of record.

so the net chance of the upcoming senate session being able to override a veto is zero. not gonna happen. hell, the democrats would be extremely lucky to hit 60 seats.

over on the house side, democrats might get a 5-10 seat advantage, they’ll never get the veto-proof majority there either. way too much rigging of the vote and maps by republicants for that.
